49 Jun 18 Comment I ent this reply to Graham as well
I was really out to capture a close up of the cormorant. I wanted to show the crest feathers that are not usually that prominent, the wonderful coloration of the eye and the blue mouth. These all occur during mating season. It might look less scary from the opposite direction.

49 Jun 18 Comment Very nice image. I would have to agree with Alan's comment on Half Dome. Possibly a little darkening of the larger white area would help solve the problem. I believe that is the Merced River in the foreground and has that smooth velvet look from the ND filter and long exposure. You did a nice job with this image. Jun 18th
49 Jun 18 Comment Very nice image. It is hard to imagine the great vastness in many parts of the USA. I like the colors of the foreground with many different shades and textures of green. The contrast and definition in the clouds are great even casting shadows on the far hills. I all comes together nicely. Great job. Jun 18th
49 Jun 18 Comment Well done with great detail and clarity. This is definitely from a different angle then most of the towers images I have seen. Good job. Jun 18th
49 Jun 18 Comment This is a great image. This is a wonderful story. I like the detail of the horses their shades of white and their action. I also noticed a lot of noise especially in the greens surrounding the horses. With an ISO that high I usually use a program called Imagenomics to handle the noise. It can work wonders. Jun 18th

52 Jun 18 Reply Just a side note to you. We are headed to Europe in a couple of days spending a lot of time in the Alps and Alps countries. I can't wait to finally have some beautiful landscapes to shoot. I will finally be able to put all I have learned from your comments, how I did it settings and pictures to put into practical use. I'm just hoping I learned enough to even come close to your images. We shall see with August images hopefully. Jun 18th
52 Jun 18 Comment Another wonderful capture. Your branch removal is masterful and I like the slight blur at the ends of the wings suggesting motion in landing. You captured the true colors of the young bird and did not bring out brighter pinks that most try to show as in adult birds. Very sharp, detailed and clarity in this image and the background creates a nice contrast to the soft pink. Another keeper. Jun 17th
52 Jun 18 Comment What an image. Wonderful! I have not been able to find the halo mentioned by others. I like the slight suggestion of the rest of the herd on the left and the small shrubbery on the right - the center the two. The green and golds of the grasses surrounding the zebras are a plus. A very small nit pick. There are small specks of mud coming of the hoof that are so small they look like dust spots. I also noticed them in the opening of the zebra's mouth. GREAT SHOT! Jun 17th
52 Jun 18 Comment I like your original cropped version the best. I am a close up person and like the details of close ups better than showing more environment. I think you have handled the processing well and you have an image to be proud of. I believe the blue areas in the rock are natural from the wetness that has covered the rock. Jun 17th
52 Jun 18 Comment I like the image as presented. The path leading into the darker shadowed woods makes me wonder what is beyond. The small yellow flowers and various shades of green are splendid making me wanting to travel farther down the pathway. I find this very pleasing as it is. Great job. Jun 17th
52 Jun 18 Comment I'm not at all artistic as you well know by now. I do like what you have done here with this image. I think that the white vignette helps to add to the mystic feeling of the image. To me it looks like there is a fog surrounding the leaf and more shows covering the background leaves. You have created just enough green in the center to draw ones attention and then the view fades rapidly into the background. Jun 17th
52 Jun 18 Comment Wonderful image. I like your finished version as the better of the two. The first thing I did notice was the dot on the horizon and figured it was a boat but it is so small I find it distracting. The peaceful feeling one receives from looking at this image is great. All the colors blend well adding to the serene feeling. Well done. Jun 17th
