"Often I share images here that don't quite meet my standards for a successful image yet I post them here to see if there are additional learnings I can gain from sharing with this group."
Excellent point Brad, in theory, the DD images are supposed to be either new techniques or images that are not "30s", they are not just supposed to be our best images just to wow people, they are , they are supposed to be for learning. |

I did try a version with more directional and jagged fire, but it threw off the symmetry of the image. I liked the tongue look as it was more "serpentine" |

Thanks Tom. I love all sorts of mirrored images.
I like the idea of adding a night sky, Thanks!
LUTs are lookup tables, bascially color grading. They are a film concept so film colors matched for specific directors, sequels, genres, etc., now digital, in PS LUTs are adjustment layers for color grading (you can even make a LUT from your favorite film)
The render flame in PS is pretty neat, there is also render clouds and render trees

I like the placement of the tractor and the building color. I see that you chose to only include some sky, I would go even more dramatic and remove the sky |

I like the way the open water leads you into the scene and reflections take you right up until the mountains. The blend is good, interesting about Aurora and handheld images.
To improve -- the greens seem very neony on my monitor. |

great scene and composition. I like the blend and the colors.
The only thing I can think to improve is -- the top left hoodoo looks too dark, kinda muddy. |

I never thought about HDR on a drone, interesting. The tone mapping is good.
Perhaps crop a little off of the right to get rid of the piece of house.
I do have an interesting drone story. Tom and I were photographing sunrise in Maine this past weekend. We heard a drone fly overhead. The next day a friend of mine shared a Maine Facebook group post on her page and it was drone sunrise photos of the same location, and Tom and I were in the photos -- weird. |

love it! Great red color and impact looks like a creature that inspired some of the star wars characters. Wonderful image.
"multiple exposures" how many stacks? How were you moving the focus point?
I would lessen the keystroke some so as not to draw the viewer's eye away from te cool insect
there are also some lines and such in the black. I will often place a curves layer (temp) to visualize the areas that are not pure black |
