Hi Andrew, good to hear from you and thanks for the comment. It took me a while and lots of looking for this image to grow on me, and your comment pointed out something I had missed. The grill is the vertical and horizontal lines and the curved lines are reflections on the bumper which has several round parts. The bluish and greenish tints are reflections of the surrounding sky and grass which is what I had not noticed before. In the bottom left the bright chrome is a part of the bumper and all of the lines are reflections. |

A beautiful scene, with nice light, color and composition. I agree the sun rays are more of a distraction even thou they help draw the eye to the lighthouse. The waves on the beach at the bottom are a great foreground and leading line but the tree branches compete with them. A slight cropping on the bottom and right side and cloning may enhance the waves and move the lighthouse a little more out of center which I think would be a stronger image. |

The composition, color, and lighting good. There are no blown out areas and the black areas are not clogged. To me there is a little too much going on. The subject is the train but the man and the wires draw the eye away from the subject. I agree with Andrew that cropping is personal. i see 2 possible crops. A) leave the subject as the locomotive and crop out the man, bushes on the right side and the wires on top. B) change the subject to "Train Rounding Bend" and crop out the wires and some of the right hand bushes. |

Great composition, color, lighting, and depth of field. After studying the image the following came to mind. These are all minor but I think the could improve the image. Going with a square image, would eliminate the white spot in the foreground and allow for expanding the left side a bit since it cuts into the leg which is part of the sharp area. I do not mind that the wings are cut off and blurred since that helps focus the eye on the action. The left antenna is out of focus while the right on is sharp. If you took several images at different settings it might be sharp in one of those images. |

I really like this image. The colors are great the subject is interesting. I wondered why the concrete on the top has a blue cast and the bottom a brown cast. My guess is the brown cast is a stain in the concrete since there are no pronounced shadows. I tried selecting the blue cast area and adjusting the temp and hue. The result is below. Not sure it is better, just different. |

Great capture. You second image addressed any issues I see, and Abe's rotation is a stronger image. |
