I thought the backgrounds would not be negotiable, icicles do not follow photographers instructions very well. It must of been fun to watch them grow. |

My initial reaction was "What is it?" Upon reflection I figured it was a junk yard photo when I saw the door handle and key hole. My reaction was to focus in on the door and eliminate the other parts which to me are confusing. The thumbnail is an example of what I would do. The lighting and colors are really good. A little more contrast may help it to pop some more. |

My initial impression is "Where is he/she going". This lends a tension to the image that holds the viewer to explore the image. I think the composition could be stronger if the eagle was placed in the right third of the image. Colors are good, but the lighting of the background could be reduced to allow the eagle to pop a bit more. The clipped wing works for this image, but I would not recommend submitting it into a competition, the judge will expect to see the whole wing. |

This is a compelling image which requires the viewer to stop and explore. The subject is interesting and makes the viewer see the bees from a different perspective - I do not need to be afraid I will be stung. The lighting is a bit bright for my tastes, and I like the muted colors. I think the image could use some sharpening if possible. |

My initial reaction was "what is this?" After looking closer and reading the About the Image I understood what you were trying to do and liked what I saw. They defiantly convey the feel of a cold winter day. The images are similar in lighting, composition and color, except for the background in the first one. A good exercise in building a triptych. |
