Great shot. You did a good job of controlling the depth of field on the pollen which I think is the story. The colors are great, but the green and yellows are distracting. I tried cropping it which helped but the issue of being close to the right side is not resolved. |

I also was here several weeks ago, but did not walk under the tracks to get this shot. I really like it and think your composition is well done. A little sharpening would make it pop a bit more. See thumbnail. |

A great shot and the reflection draws the eye to the sun. Using a higher aperture, now that you know your camera, would make the sun a star and add a lot of pop. I adjusted the dehase, highlights, and blue luminance in Lightroom. see if you like it in the thumbnail. |

I also had not heard of this technique but it produces interesting results. To me this is a nice abstract with the subject being the color. To help focus on the color I added a vignette. See thumbnail.
About tools in Photoshop, I have Photoshop CC on my PC. I did a quick check. I clicked on the view tab and then selected "screen mode". the menu give you three choices. Mine was set to "standard mode" and I had all of the tools. With the "full screen" choice the tools went away and I had to push "esc" to get them back. Do not know if this is the same in CS6. |

I too would like to know what these are. I think the subject is the faces not the whole object, so I would crop out the top 20%, eliminating the brightness, and then take a brush and lighten the faces so they attract the eye. |
