Hi Erik
Is this a pair of burrowing owls or a pair of Siamese twins ?
I was watching a documentary last year about urban wildlife in the Florida region and these owls featured in the programme and fascinated me,I had never heard of them before.
Fabulous D.O.F. so makes the birds stand out, wonderful colours and again animal behaviour always a treat to see your record of the natural world. |

Hi Vella
If i had a penny for every shot of the Eiffel tower I had seen I would be a very rich man,but wow not seen one like this before taken from the tower and I love it,I love the layering within the image, the foreground low level and so scenic the mid ground denoted with semi circular structure and moving into urban, the background starting with a forested area with the skyscrapers towering towards the fabulous sky.
Absolutely superb image this deserves to do so well in a photo travel competition. |

Hi Bill
The stain glass window on the left and the 2 beautiful lanterns on the right add so much balance to the image showing your eye for composition. The small lantern far right gives a real sense of depth to the image.detail in all the darker areas so well seen and presented. |

Hi Isaac
I know so well from covering Latin American music events stage lighting is great for performers and a disaster for photographers so like you I always convert to mono.
The head does not bother me the main subject is so well lit your eye goes straight to him and the wonderful expression just holds your gaze. If you tried to crop it the guitar would be too tight or slightly cropped.
A great image and I hope you showed those youngsters some real dance moves. |

Hi Gary
Do we have to refer to you as Lord Butler of Kilkenny now ?
I love the contrast between the wonderful warm tones and the cooler tones of the glass roof panels.
The people in the image show the grand scale of the gallery, love the composition as it allows the eye to travel through the image with plenty of detail to look at and enjoy.
Wonderful photo travel image.

Hi Hoshedar
I agree with everything Butch has said, this gentlemen so holds your gaze,I was thinking of lightening the eyes slightly but there are great catchlights in both eyes so I would leave at that, the light hair is wonderful rim lighting but as already said I would darken it slightly and for the darker areas of the hair I would just lift the shadows a touch as I am sure they may be a touch of detail that could be brought out in it,a wonderful engaging portrait.
I hope you don't mind I just reduced the highlights and opened the shadows to reveal some lovely detail in the darker area of the hair. |

Hi peter
Everything just flows in more ways than one,a wonderful reverse S shape through the rock faces that carries the eye throughout the picture, positioning and composition as always faultless.
I really like this image. |

Hi John
As always your all seeing eye has struck again, lovely textures in the tree,a lovely curving shape on the right side,I might just bring the highlights down a very slight touch. |
