Hi Erik
A very very emotive image that does tell such a story,it is impossible on a busy street not to get people in the background but this does not bother me for a few reasons a,it shows the enviroment of the street musician b, it adds to the story because everyone except the lady is so intent on where they want to be they are paying no attention to him, and c, you have done a fabulous job in a crowded scene of isolating the muscician, the lady, the dog and the donation box you have done such a good job the other people are peripheral to the main subject they show the bussiness of his surroundings but do not encroach on the main subjects.
A top PJ image. |

Hi Vella
Oh to visit Patagonia I imagine any image cannot even start to replicate that time of the morning stood on the deck taking in this wonderous scene,If my learned group colleagues with all their skills cannot lighten the blacks I am sure I unfortunately can't.
One thought is would it convert into a high contrast mono image , and as already been said about taking several shots if that would have been possible maybe a shot just before the sun had crested the mountainside or one when when the sun was a little higher and just casting light on the mountain side. |

Hi Guy
I love the way you have handled the contrast between the shade and light areas great detail throughout the whole image the autumn colours just starting to show break up the mass of green church beautifully positioned in the frame a wonderful pastoral landscape which shows the beauty and make up of the area.
I know how difficult it is to get a shot from a moving boat I have a friend who owns a medium sized pleasure craft and he invited me to join him bobbing about the Mersey when the World Clipper race finished on the River boy it was a challenge. |

Hi Bill
this is one of the most impressive still life images I have seen in many a long year, your light painting is perfection it has highlighted the onion perfectly and brought out the colours and textures to their full quality, the back drop colour and texture sits so well with the main subject.
For me its a tour de force. |

Hi Isaac
So well spotted and captured brought a smile to my face as Guy said the worker seems very in tune with the state of building,
something totally different and it works. |

Hi Gary
I know having worked with the Latin American community for some time how important culture is to the worlds communities.
I think this installation is a very tricky object to make a decent image of but as I like to do when you get an interesting object look at sections and see if something works and boy in my eyes you have so achieved it the image just flows the proportions of the structure and the reflected lettering are perfect this may look a simple image its the opposite its been seen by a keen eye and made to work I absolutely love it.

Hi Guy
Many thanks as always for your kind words.
Concerning my position on the day the only available place to hold the fashion show was a small lecture theatre within the museum, there was supposed to be 1 show at 11a.m. until 12.30pm tickets went very quickly so a second show was quickly arranged starting at 2 pm which is the one I was asked to cover it was very tight in there the only area I could get in was tight against the wall on the left hand side shooting over the heads of the audience, which at times was difficult but the Museum and Luma were delighted in such an interest in Latin American culture. |

Hi John
I live on the Wirral and regularly visit the museum you have captured my favourite staircase it provides stunning photo opportunities from every level and the beautiful skylight gives different light and shade at various times of the day.
And like your fabulous image it has to be monochrome every time. |

Hi Ella
What a great spot and this so works as a mono on my first viewing without reading your notes I thought you had taken a macro image of the workings of a watch, the lighting adds so much depth to your image and is beautifully handled detail throughout and love the effect of the texture.
I think more visits to furniture stores should be on your itinerary. |

Hi Susan
the first thing I thought was what a wonderful recession from the boldness of the trees in the foreground to the furthest trees barely definable its a magical effect very very well produced, the skier is perfectly placed in the image, its as good a winter image as I have seen in a very long time. |

Hi Ed
Boy the image tells a story as could this gentleman I imagine fabulous detail in the body, this is a truly moving image.
As already said I would just darken the face slightly and possibly crop down a touch from the top.
Look forward to seeing more portraits from your trip. |

Hi Michael
Your persistence of re visiting this location paid dividends, I find the image very etherial beautiful tones throughout the low light has really enhanced the shapes of the surrounding rock formation and the back lighting through the tree branches and leafs is magical. |

Hi John
This is definately negative space but interesting negative space, lots of texture and design in the brickwork the paint is most certainly non uniform the floor supports and grills all add interest in my humble opinion mission accomplished to a very high standard I like it. |
