Hi Guy
What a fabulous location, and for me you made the most of the opportunity, it looks like the cliff stabilisation work was done in the nick of time, thank goodness.
Wonderful lighting love the small town at the base of the cliffs and a beautiful sea you have captured the entire enviroment the Folly stands in and overlooks.

Hi Gary
Thanks so much for your kind words, for me a portrait stands or falls by the eyes,I did lighten the eyes slightly but there was a lot of very very dark makeup around to add I think to the effect this young lady wanted to portray I did lighten further but it started to look unreal or false so I took it back to just a slight lightening. |

Hi Issac
To me a fabulous piece of photojournalism,in one picture you have shown thee atmosphere, the conditions, the hardships and emotions of this area the composition is superb as are the tones, this is one of those very very powerful images that makes you stop and take stock of just how lucky you are.

Hi Vella
Thank you so much for your kind words,Liverpool is actually my City of birth so it is going home for me,as for the sharpening when I sharpen I mask the skin detail on the face I only want the eyes and lips sharp and the tip of the nose.
All I ever say to people who agree to be photographed by me is you know how you want to be captured so be yourself or the character you want to portray,I give no direction I let them be who they want to be and just press the shutter button. |

Many thanks Guy something I had always wanted to see and never thought I would,I have found the Latin American community so generous with their time and so polite it is a joy to share their culture with them. |

Hi Ella
Such a simple composition but so well seen and captured, the beautiful curve of the pathway takes the eye along the architecture to the beautiful tree which not only acts as a stop but fills what would have been a dead space, lovely tones and textures throughout and the small bush bottom right for me is so well thought out and important to the picture great example of composition at its best. |

Hi peter
We were in Staffordshire in May this year for a family get together over a long weekend and my plan was to visit the Arboretum on the Saturday morning unfortunately my partner Lesley was taken ill on the Saturday morning and we spent the weekend in Staffordshire County Hospital but we do plan yo visit hopefully sometime next year.
As always so thoughtfully composed I so agree with Ella the person on the seat gives scale to the surroundings wonderful sky and wonderful detail throughout. |

Hi John
I absolutely love this so many stratas of textures tones and shapes brilliantly seen and composed full tonal range, the coal is very like the beautifully smooth sea glass I find on the beaches of the River Mersey beautifully smooth.
The more I look at it the more I love it.

Hi Diana
Love the DOF making the artist really stand out from the crowd, you could try lightenimg the eyes but it can start to look unreal if you overdo it ,I find when the eyes are so heavily made up its best to leave or just the very slightest week but a great image I really like. |
