Hi Erik
If this was a large colony I would think the noise was pretty deafening as well but that is part of the joys of nature that you bring to my screen every month to enthrall and educate me.
It what must have been a very crowded area you have done such a good job in isolating a single family with absolutely no distractions allowing the viewer to concentrate and take in the animal behaviour something you excel at.
As always superbly composed and presented. |

Hi Guy
So you have the Lordstones and just further down the path you have the human statues they could almost be the Anthony Gormley figures on Crosby Beach.
Guy I would have been so entranced by the view this shot would have totally passed me by but your keen eye saw an opportunity and made it work, the non uniform line of people adds to the effect for me brilliantly seen, cropped, presented and totally unique. |

Hi Isaac
I always look at pictures and study them before reading the authors notes, this had me scratching my head, they say a good picture asks questions so this is a brilliant picture because it had me asking all sorts of questions then all became very clear after reading your notes.
Brilliantly spotted superbly captured something totally different a very limited pallette which so works I think its great well done. |

Many thanks Guy I chose the close up as i thought the colours of the eyes were such a strong contrast with almost monochrome of the rest of the image and she looks like she is almost leaning into the camera I never give my subjects direction I just ask them to be themselves or portray their character as they see fit I have several of this lovely lady but loved her enigmatic smile on this image.
I love your crop Guy and will certainly revisit the images and do similar many many thanks. |

Hi Gary
May I also send my warmest congratulations for your 50th anniversary.
Gary as already said your meticulous planning really paid dividends,I especially love the beautiful warm hues on the foreground rocks beautifully captured, the whole image is atmospheric, moody and dream like, stunning detail throughout, and that very delicate haze/mist is the absolute icing on the cake if would be a crime not to print this gorgeous image and you have a stunning reminder of your celebrations to look at every day. |

Hi Ella
What a beautiful image of the Abbey for me you found the perfect spot from which to capture this idyllic scene, the reflections are so well handled and the backdrop of the dark trees contrast so well with the Abbey and really make it stand out the lead in takes the eye all the way through the picture, mono was a perfect choice,so hope there is more like this to come from your trip. |

Hi Michael
I absolutely love this so strong and atmospheric fabulous lead in,the dunes look like rolling waves and are so well positioned for me the amount of light on the dunes is OK it gives them shape and definition, for me this is a very well seen and powerful image. |

Hi John
With the wonderful contrast of light and shade and patterns created this image was made for mono, the person not only gives the eye a focal point but gives a great idea of the scale of the bridge, your eye never lets you down well done. |
