4 May 24 Comment Hi Erik
Firstly accept my sincerest apologies for not commenting om your image last month I actually did but obviously did not press submit I did forward a critique for Gary to pass on to you.
I am the same as Guy I was not aware of these beautiful birds before you enlightened us, their colours are beautiful I could say they look like an explosion in a paint factory.
You know and study animal behaviour and capture it brilliantly now did you want a few shots of them feeding or did your field craft kick in and think lets see if anything developes,on my monitor it does look a little soft which you have explained you have captured yet another amazing piece of animal behaviour all power to your steady hand and long lens.

4 May 24 Comment Hi Vella
I totally second everything my group friends have said about this image you position gives the cliff formations amazing power and authority as already said the framing is perfection, the oranges and greens sit so well side by side.
It could not be bettered in my eyes fabulous image.

4 May 24 Comment Hi Guy
By the powers invested in me I have decided you have been elevated to Professor staircase.
As you know I love going in close and trying to pick out shapes and patterns in structures so this is right up my street and the colours are a bonus, everything flows perfectly framed and cropped the colours sit wonderfully well,so hope you have more to show from the visit.
Lesley only lives about 40 minutes from the gallery and we have still not been we are going soon after seeing this.

4 May 24 Comment Hi Bi;;
This so works as a mono conversion for me its so moody and atmospheric, the first thing I noticed was the lightening of the sand between the fences which leads the eye through the picture but does not distract the eye from taking in the textures and the tones oh the fence posts.
Living on the coast all my life I know what opportunities the fleeting evening light can offer and you made the most of this opportunity.

4 May 24 Reply Hi Gary
We got enough fresh air to last us a year,I would normally use the Lee 6 stop but the sea was moving so rapidly I thought it might be fun to put the 10 stop on, because that pushed me to 10 seconds I needed the 3 stop grad filter on for the sky I really like the medium filter it really works well.

4 May 24 Reply Many thanks Vella I was down there for about an hour and needed thawing out when I got back to our lakeside lodge. May 9th
4 May 24 Comment Hi Isaac
I looked at this for about 30 seconds and felt I needed to go and put my overcoat on so well have you captured the conditions of the harsh winter landscape.
I love the contrast between the fast flowing water and the frozen part of the river, the darker area of the water starting in the mid ground is fabulous and leads the eye through the rest of the picture beautifully handled and presented.

4 May 24 Comment Oh my word Gary what an amazing piece of architecture thank you for bringing it to my attention.
As Guy said there must be so many photo opportunities at a site like this.
I really like your low angle on the building it really makes it dominate the image, the touch of clouds in the sky adds effect,I also prefer Isaacs crop.
Hoping there is more for us to see from your visit.

31 May 24 Comment Hi Ella
If this had been one of your designed still life images for me you could not have placed the bird on a better perch, wonderful textures and shapes and so adds to the image.you caught the bird at the right time love the seed in the beak adds so much interest, eye pin sharp I personally do not care how many pics of curved bill thrashers you submit if they are all of this quality.

31 May 24 Comment Hi Susan
Your shooting low to high really works on this image gives a clear background so the statue can been seen in all its glory yet the temple can also be seen,I was also thinking might tone the light area on the forehead down but along with the other light areas it does add contrast.

31 May 24 Comment Hi Ed
I so really like this image everything flows, the water flows all the way through from top left to bottom right and contrasts beautifully with darker landscape either side, love the way the trees in the right hand side curve down and wonderful lighting and texture on the rock faces great landscape image.

31 May 24 Comment Hi Michael
A massive warm welcome to the Group,a wonderfully contrasty image, love the way the light gently recedes from left to right across the chairs but detail retained throughout also really like the strong shadow from the chair back against the girder support behind the second chair, you have gone in wide showing the enviroment in which the chairs were placed but this image also gives wonderful opportunities for various crops.
One nit pick along the right side of the frame there is a long line of bright sunlight which does draw the eye if you crop it it may well just edge out the end chair so I would either darken it in or clone it out.
Really well seen and presented.

31 May 24 Comment Hi Peter
No photograph can ever be as good as actually standing there and just looking at a scene in wonderment but if this image does not recreate the memories of the moment and the scene for you I wold be amazed.
The lighting is perfection not only on the castle but on the hills behind I really could look at this all day it is outstanding.

31 May 24 Comment Hi John
I love the texture in the foreground rock and make a nice base for the main subject of your image, nice tones and texture on the outcrop which is nicely positioned in the frame.

As more rocks fall from the outcrop and it reduces in size you have captured an important record for social history.
