Hi Erik
You have recorded a piece of social history for eternity (as has Isaac) its wonderful that people still maintain and upkeep their traditions and they are recorded respectfully as you and Isaac have done the modern water bottle does not worry me as its modern meets ancient and though modern equipment is used the tradition remains, the colours are striking and beautifully handled a wonderful insight into this mans culture. |

Hi Vella
I had my first go at portraiture about 5 years ago and fell in love with it like your image I never do studio work (well only once) I always shoot the portraits on location at comicons and steam punk events fabulous characters who want to be photographed, you have captured a stunning portrait full of character its fabulous the most important part of any portrait are the eyes if the eyes are not sharp go no further you can never save it the eyes are pin sharp in this and as Isaac has done I always check the lighting on the eyes and make very slight adjustments if needed.
You have been told to enter it in an International and I so agree I will tell you where I also enter all my portraits thats the PSA Individual Portrait Comp this would do very very well.
A portrait to be proud of.
Vella the brightness of the hair was mentioned so I opened it in RAW and dropped the highlights and there is detail in there take a look. |

Hi Guy
Like you I love shapes in pictures and like you always looking for a section of a larger area that creates lines and flow and this has all that and more,I like the muted colours created by a cloudy sky,so well seen beautifully presented and so works for me. |

Hi Bill your time spent on creating the final image was so well spent, the image is so well balanced, red can be so difficult to handle but the red flowers and a wonderful base to a very colourful image for me you have really captured the spirit of Detroit. |

Hi Gary
I concur with all my group friends in their comments theo ther feature I really like is the way trees in the fore and mid ground zig zag and lead the eye really well through that area to the 2 peaks. |

Hi Ella
I would never have thought to convert an image like this to mono and boy does it work, f stop perfect to take out any background distractions, the lighting on my monitor is amazing it looks like it has a bulb inside it in fact reminds me of a Tiffany lamp it stands out beautifully hope you have some more to share. |

Hi Susan
a big warm welcome to the group, beautifully composed the v shapes are superb and the image is ideally cropped, there is more detail in the sky to be brought out and as already said the snow is a little muted Peter has done a great job in putting the final touches to a lovely landscape image. |

Hi Nick
For me everything is spot on ,having said that a slight darkening of the top right would be the icing on the cake, wonderful texture on the basalt rock face shutter speed spot on I do prefer your main pic think the portrait crop is perfect for this image. |

Hi Peter
As always beautifully composed the landing craft is an absolute gift to a photographer I especially love the detail and texture of the rockface on the far side of the Fjord.

Hi John
Some really nice shapes created by the tree trunks and mirrored by the shadows on the hillside,my only comment would be it looks a little flat just up the contrast a touch. |

Hi Stuart
This image brought back so many happy memories for me as I spent a few years in Belgium in the 1970,s wonderful country it is the Atomium built for the world fair when Belgium hosted it, I stand to be corrected but I think its in Brussels (or as the the Belgians call it Bruxelles)not in Bruges which is very Medieval and has strict regulations about modern architecture.
I hope you went inside the Atomium its fabulous. |
