Amazing for an early attempt at flower photography I so look forward to more of your work in that genre, my post on Group 31 this month shows me looking at a more intimate shot of a much larger object enjoy your flower photography. |

Hi LuAnn
A totally different take on any sunflower shot I have seen before and I love it, the toning lifts it,I am always looking at the picture within the picture and this so fits that bill beautifully edited and presented. |

Hi Erik
Firstly what a steady hand I could not do 1/30s hand held that would be ICM for me.
I love looking at the smaller picture and this so appeals to me you have chosen a really interesting part of the vehicle to highlight some wonderful curves and arcs with intersecting straight lines, the colours are vibrant and a great job with the brass for me it in no way over powers the rest of the image. You made the most of a limited space well done. |

Hi Vella
You had a fabulous vantage point to capture this scene the wonderful cloud inversion really seperates the foreground and background I agree with Guy adding a bit more blue to the sky would be good but the foreground colours in the trees work so well for me and boosting them may stop the eye carrying to the background which I so enjoy. |

Hi Bill
Your condolences are very much appreciated as Guy said it seems very strange as she is the only Monarch I have ever known and she was so personable and a people person her influence will be sadly missed.
Thank you so much for your kind words I will revisit this beautiful tree. |

Hi Guy
I have had the pleasure and delight of attending one of your talks and as soon as I saw both images posted this month I immediately remembered your earlier prints shown at the talk the quality of your prints is absolutely outstanding.
I think we have the same sense of humour I laughed my socks off when I read the sign I love music and have music on all the time I am one of those rare people who does not have a T.V. its all music in my life.
Your composition is spot on showing the shop and the sign so prominent and the interior of the shop a very very important backdrop great eye and thank you for giving me a laugh. |

Hi Bill
You have not only captured the intense and wonderful early morning colours, you have portrayed the enviroment in a single image, however good the image and this is good you were there to witness natures gift and this image will bring back that experience every time you look at it. |

Hi Isaac
The Huey was most certainly a workhorse throughout its long military career, and very much a fitting memorial to those so sadly lost. You have done a great job in isolating the front of the helicopter and showing the detail, looking at picture 3 its carrying the markings for the Air National Guard.

Hi Gary
I so love my portraiture and always compete in the PSA individual portrait comps and I have enjoyed reasonable success, the first thing I note is the image is totally natural which is fabulous, the eyes are pin sharp a must, hands and arms can be a problem but with Kellan clasping his cuddly toy again they look natural and an essential part of the image and the story, the lighting is very harsh so I think you have done a great job fill flash was a good idea I will experiment with various percentages of fill flash, also as said by Guy and Bill a reflector is so useful different angles will produce more or less reflectance again checked in seconds just moving it slightly if I do not have anyone one to hold it for me I prop it against my camera bag.
My preferred flash attachment is made by expoimaging and is called the Rogue Flashbender it is amazing I have had one for about 5 years and so helps me control the lighting when using on camera flash when taking portraits on location something I do a lot of.
I agree with Bill the blue blanket in the background is a distraction but when working with someone older you can move to where you have a more subtle background and ask them to look towards you with a young child they lead you.
Gary you have produced a collection of wonderful memories for you and your daughter to be proud of and I am sure you will get plenty more opportunities in the future.
I have attached a thumbnail pic of myself and Eddie the mascot of the rock band Iron Maiden after I had done a photoshoot in Liverpool with him about 4 years ago you can see the flashbender attached to my flashgun in the image you also have to guess which one is me.

Hi Carrie
Love the angle you have used to capture the aircraft showing its sleek lines to the maximum and wonderful lighting.
I nearly fell off my seat when I saw this because its a rather rare survivor its a North American P-51B fitted with an Alison engine the giveaway is the eliptical glass at the rear of the cockpit the R.A.F. took delivery of some did not like the high altitude performance of the aircraft fitted them with Rolls Royce Merlin engines and the incredible P-51C Mustang was born.Lots of P-51C's still flying but not that many P-51B's. |

Hi Nick
I love the atmosphere you have created with this image I really do,but I am torn by 2 choices both positive, firstly leave it exactly as it is secondly as already said it a s big sky and a very good sky but the composition of the foreground is superb so I am thinking crop to the top of the main cloud and bring that wonderful foreground more to the forefront whichever you decide you are on to a winner in my eyes wonderful moody image |

Many thanks, as soon as I saw it I thought contrasty mono that was all that was in my head barely looked at the original colour image to intent in getting it into mono sometimes it needs someone looking in from the outside to nudge you in the right direction many thanks. |

Hi John
I so love Scotland it gives so many photo opportunities,I like most of your composition but for me I would crop up from the bottom to right below the shadow area on the right and ever so slightly from the right as there is a a shadow on the edge, then the ridge line takes the eye straight to the tree line which undulates so well along the horizon and a good sky.
If you could open up the shadows a touch that would be even better. |
