4 Aug 22 Reply Bill as always so many thanks for your help and advice. Aug 25th
4 Aug 22 Comment Hi Erik
every time you post one of your nature images I think how is ever going to better that well again you have confounded me like Vella never noticed the legs, the juxtaposition of the 2 birds the amazing sharpness but above all the eyes its perfection if I could take something half as good as this I would hang my camera up and retire pure perfection.

4 Aug 22 Comment Hi Vella
What a fabulous nature shot you really captured the action and from a moving boat as well Kudos I do a lot of fast jet photography at air shows and for that I am never below1/1500 sec shutter speed on auto ISO which on a bright day could be as low as 400 and on an overcast day it could be as high 1500/ 2000 and I have never had a noise problem Isaacs edit has really given a wonderful nature image some pop

4 Aug 22 Reply I have a friend who was brought up in St Helens area, every morning before school he and his father would walk the railway lines and collect coal that had dropped from the rail trucks coming from the mines in the area Aug 13th
4 Aug 22 Comment Hi Guy
what a fabulous sky, really like the composition and the sea coal adds interest to the foreground,an important record of social history that is beautifully presented.

4 Aug 22 Reply Hi Guy
So many thanks for your kind words I have printed the original which was immediately taken by Lesley but it looked good I intend to print Isaacs crop this weekend and compare but I think Isaacs does show the raindrop more clearly just so happy I had the opportunity to grab the shot.

4 Aug 22 Comment Hi Bill
I am the 5th comment and the fifth view I like the one you have posted you have lightened just enough to give a glimpse of detail but leave an air of mystery, I love the deep shadows it gives real depth and contrasts against the patches of frost and the hot springs the one you posted so works for me.

4 Aug 22 Comment Hi Isaac
such a clever idea and so well executed I think your original post may make a very good mono image, your reworked version has real punch I especially like the diagonal created by the fence panels really well seen and presented.

4 Aug 22 Comment Hi Gary
Thank you so much for your kind words the gardens were an absolute joy and I think if not next month I have another from that morning for the groups appraisal as soon as I saw Isaacs crop I knew that was it I have just printed and framed it and it really looks good it has Lesleys approval so thats praise indeed I would so much rather have a print any day.

4 Aug 22 Comment Hi Gary
This must have been a really interesting tour with lots of photo opportunities something I would have loved,I love the way that the HDR has captured the the way time has started to corrode the metal surfaces I would imagine the intense heat during their working life would also have taken a toll on their condition, there is so much to see and take in and texture everywhere it is really well handled, when I saw Isaacs crop that really did tie the whole image together for me he also cropped my picture this month and made it stronger I think Dr Flip is becoming Dr Crop.
I agree with Vella I really liked the mono image it really worked for me with this type of image and agreed with Vella it needed a touch more contrast so I added a touch.
I think you made the most of a a great opportunity to visit this site.

Thanks for your kind words, Isaacs surgery as cured the problem the heatwave was a couple of weeks before I took this, it was a typical U.K. summers day pleasantly warm but rather wet.

So glad you stopped to capture the scene so well seen, the trees make a fabulous frame the fisherman is perfectly placed in the frame love the way the ripples move straight to the y shape in the tree on the right it is very very clever composition and beautifully presented.

I love it I hardly noticed the window at the bottom the leading line is so strong it took me in a big curve past the window to the amazing geometry in the upper portion its a winner all ends up for me well done love it.

31 Aug 22 Comment Hi Nick
From the angle you have taken this I get the feeling of being overwhelmed by the size of this amazing mountain the whites are really well captures and handled, composition spot on amazing sky as already said the darks at the bottom could be lifted a bit but I absolutely love it get it printed.

31 Aug 22 Comment Hi John

This is so my type of shot I love looking for the a small area within a larger area and trying to pick out one section, you have wonderful shapes, patterns and flow in the structure yes its a little dark but because of the dark background it works its minamalist and subtle the only negative I have is I find it unbalanced if it had the same space below as it had above perfect in my eye but it probably had a structure below so impossible. So I did an edit my take on it.
As always John great eye well seen.
