Hi Erik
You say that you have become so attached to this image I think for 2 reasons very very few people would have spotted it and 2 like any image it takes you right back to the second that you took the image and brought back the emotions and the place of capture.
I have absolutely no issues with the composition except for the very top right corner there is no dead apace and that area does not bother me in the least everything flows and moves in the same direction everything sits so well its wonderfully composed, abstract yes I agree but I can most certainly learn something from your eye and take that forward.

Hi Vella
For me who is not a nature photographer its a stunning image I love the arc made by the wings the head is in a wonderful position and as far as I can see the eye is pin sharp, you have captured a majestic bird with wonderful movement. |

Hi Guy
Everything you turn your lens to whatever the subject is a treat to see, the sharpness and clarity of the birds is outstanding the colours totally natural and you have captured animal behaviour, when we were in North Yorkshire we were so close to this site and I was not aware of it but we will most certainly return next year and visit the cliffs.
An outstanding nature image. |

Hi Bill
What a fabulous building,so glad you had your phone with you to record it I love buildings in this style, as already noted the brickwork on the house has suffered slightly but not too much to take away from the magnificence of the building. |

Gary the P-51 became the plane it was when they fitted it with a Merlin a fabulous fighter I so love,I was so lucky to clamber aboard a B-17 about 6 years ago what shocked me when the aircraft is in flight the rear wheel housing is right behind the rear gunner and he has no escape unless the rear wheel is lowered.Total respect to your Father 59 missions is incredible and what is more incredible I bet most of them were daylight raids. |

I was lucky I was in my early 30's when I sat in a Spitfire cockpit and talked through by the late Brian Brown a brilliant Hurricane display pilot who is so sadly missed. |

Hi Isaac
Having lived all my life by the sea I know only too well the fearsome power it contains and that it is to be respected even in the calmest of conditions,I feel the calmer waters act as a form on foreground the calm after the storm if you like and is a great contrast to what is happening behind, you have captured movement and action so well in the wave hitting the rock but also the crashing waves forming an arc behind the rock I think its a very powerful image,my only nit pick I might just open up the shadows a touch on the rocks a common sight for me really well captured. |

Hi Erik
I was just so fascinated to see it as you often prove with your stunning images nature makes use of the most unusual circumstances and turns them to their advantage it was a privilege to see. |

Hi Gary
if I cropped any more think there would be too much noise but its a picture of not the best quality but one which holds fabulous memories of something that amazed me and again proved nature will always find a way. . |

I so love a good mono image and this Gary is a good mono image actually its a great mono image, verticals are perfect detail in all the lighter and darker areas, the pews give scale to just how high and cavernous this amazing structure is wonderfully edited and with your re edit of the colour image you have 2 fabulous images to be proud of. |

Many thanks Bill I did think about cropping further but its already starting to show signs of noise so left alone wish I had taken my 100 - 400 but its a bit of a weight to carry on a day out. |

Hi Hank
Firstly I so hope the fire is now out and you and those living in the area are safe as well, its a superb piece of photojournalism a slower shutter speed would most certainly have given you some really good rotor blur but you may have lost the stunning effect you have on the cascading water.
The Sikorsky Skycranes are an amazing helicopter so versatile. |

Hi Ed
Good spot and I think there is a very interesting pattern image within the image all the interest for me is from centre to right I would crop from there perhaps drop the highlights or white balance down a touch add a bit of contrast and I think the eye would be led from stone to stone and some very interesting patterns would emerge. |

Hi Nick
400mm lens I would want to be 400 miles away from this, amazing capture beautiful tones and detail in the fur and eyes pin sharp, I agree with the others the highlights in the background are a little bright Peter has made a great suggestion and for me it works,it allows us to concentrate fully on what is a superb study of the bear. |

Hi John
Your trusty eye led you to shapes and patterns,as always well seen, looking at the image its a little tight and taking in the scene I suspect you had very little space to work with hence the tight crop if I am wrong and you have a bit more room to play with this I think would be good,I felt the shadows could be lifted a little to show a little more of the detail in the darker area so I opened it in RAW opened up the shadows dropped the highlights and added just a touch of contrast. |

Oh my word yes I see what you mean about the dark area I like I am sure others do get too close to our work to notice the obvious its so good to have talented photographers like yourself looking over my shoulder and pointing things like this out.I never noticed the bug til I uploaded I like him.
Thanks Ella |

Hi Diana
Great capture, fabulous expression, wonderful detail in the clothing and love the way the dark coat is just light enough to stand out from the dark background, the hand in which you can see the thumb and one and half fingers tucked above the elbow I might just darken that a touch, but a great portrait. |
