Hi Erik
Another fantastic nature image from you, your new camera really produces sharp images and the colour is fabulous, are so lucky to have large flocks of shore birds along the peninsula were I live and our fair share of oyster catchers I must follow your lead and try and capture a few |

It was an unusually still and calm day Vella we always have a very slight breeze at best and at this time of year it can be howling gale but it was beautifully still and calm.Happy Holidays. |

Hi Vella
a lovely portrait that so suits black and white I think you have captured a rather weary traveller,in a situation like this you cannot choose your backgrounds you did a great job in being able to crop down as much as possible and isolate the lady I would just bring the highlights slider down slightly for the background but a really good portrait image. |

Hi Guy
What a fantastic combining of images if you had not mentioned this I would never have known. As previously said I spent a week in the Lakes September 2019 and never even saw the sky,the reeds add real interest in the foreground the movement in the water illustrates the windy conditions and lead us across to those illuminated wonderful Autumn colours you have so captured the magic of the Lakes with this image. |

Hi Bill
Never seen anything like this before at first all the colours just hit me but after a couple of seconds and a chance to study closely there are some amazing effects within, some flowing some geometric its absolutely fascinating and I can so see why it was awarded,Bill you have become a trend setter. |

Hi Isaac
The horse and rider are pin sharp in every image the eye goes straight to the main subject I have had to go back and look at all the images again to look at the background because I didn't notice it first time round and my eye was dragged back to the main subject.Isaac something I have not mentioned before I was honoured to be asked to be a judge last year in an International and judge Photojournalism If this had come up before me I would have given it a maximum 5. |

Hi Isaac
You missed your calling you could have been one of the worlds great sports photographers, though I am sure your patients are glad you took the path you did, what a stunning set of images I so love photojournalism and this is superb photojournalism I am not going to pick a favourite because I can't unlike the young lady every single image stands tall on its own 2 feet,if any one of these does not win you an award I will hang up my camera and take up knitting.
Absolutely brilliant piece of panning as well. |

Hi Joe
Fantastic vibrancy in the colours colours the orange and blues really sit together so well I really like the writing on the pillars,I also love the way the path meanders along and the way it curves at the end, like Guye it would have been wonderful if someone had been at the end of the path but a great image from what must have been a wonderful trip. |

Hi Jack
Thank you so much for taking time to comment I did like the groyne on the left coming in from the left side but also having lived by the river all my life the tide comes in on an arc,and it was coming in rather swiftly from my right side and like a lot of locals I have a lot of respect for the sea. |

This so works for me the window wonderfully positioned in the frame the colour strong but not overpowering and the textures so well rendered a superb interpretation of negative space. |

Hi Ella
Love your sentiment but hope it does not materialise here as I now live on the top of a very very steep hill, which gives fantastic views across the Mersey Estuary but tackling it in snow scares me.
Fantatsic idea, looks brilliant so made me smile all I can do is return the wishes Happy Holidays Ella and a peaceful new Year. |

Hi Paul
This was so made for black and white great sky really well handled highlights in the water which lead you straight to the islands,my initial idea matched Peters a slightly squarer crop would be as effective. |

Hi Ed
It was initially the title that alerted me as soon as I saw the image I also thought that looks familiar see your work stays strong in our memory a compliment, liked it last time still like it I might just tone down the highlights is my only thought on an improvement. |

Hi Peter
Two superb images looks a beautiful location love the positioning of the cattle in the field naturally more visible in the colour image, the sky is superb and the 2 large trees left and right really well positioned.
The only thing I noticed the nearest bush on the river bank is very bright and keeps taking my eye I would take it down a touch if it were me.
A beautiful location creating an image of calm and tranquility. |

Hi Lance,
Thank you so much for your kind wishes and may I reciprocate them to you and all your family,as for the going out without the camera its a story we can all relate to,the best shots always seem to appear when the camera is back home.Stay safe my friend and please take care.
I am working flat out at the moment but I will most certainly read you excerpt on the Group 87 page on my next day off on Sunday. |

Hi Peter
I am sure like mw, you have seen many images of these boat sheds but this one stands out from the crowd the composition as always with you is perfect the lighting on the front of sheds is sublime and for me the sky is absolutely fabulous and adds so much to the image, and as you say the shot being pre 2005 makes it a very important piece of social history. |

Hi John
Another one of your keen eyed images I like this as it is but if you stare at for around 20/30 seconds the image becomes almost 3D or it does to me I there is a depth I can't explain but to me its more than a few white lines a very clever image. |

Hi Lance
Thank you so much for your kind comments.
I had actually just gone for a stroll on the beach it was very overcast and nearly didn't take my camera, but you know if you don't you regret it,as I reached the point I took the image I noted the cloud formed almost a V above the lighthouse in the colour version there is the slightest hint of sunset colour I do like shooting at f8 as the camera was already set at that aperture I composed the picture set the single focus point of the centre of the lighthouse,I did not even have my tripod with me so this was hand held so no focus stacking involved no masked sharpening I can only guess I got very lucky. Not a lot of help I am afraid Lance. I did double check my settings on the EXIF data on the Rae file. |
