Hi
I have been an air show photographer for many years really nicely composed image 1250s is a perfect shutter speed for aircraft I always leave the ISO on auto always use a 100 - 400mm lens if you have longer focal length perfect like you I use a full frame camera if you have a cropped sensor camera as well you can extend your focal length that way. The aircraft is a Pitts S1 special. Enjoy your airshows as I do and happy panning. |

Hi Michael
It took your reply to make me realise it has a painterly look to it that is meant as a compliment its a portrait I would have been very proud to produce as I say enjoy what you do and I will be very keen to keep an eye on your work |

Hi Michael
Not a group 3 member but I hope you are as happy in your group as I have been in mine
I do a lot of portraiture and I really like this the crop is really good you could even afford to crop down from the top a touch more fantastic detail in the mans face the colour of the clothes sit really well together the blurred background really makes the main subject stand out,the edge of the mans headscarf is slightly blurred but in this case it works.
You have created a really pleasing portrait the most important person to please is yourself so chill a little and be proud of what you create.
Enjoy your time with Group 3 |

Hi Erik
its very rare an image can replicate the beauty of nature and this one certainly doesn't,I had a very long and hard week in work this view and as you so rightly said the walk around the rest of the lake afterwards so recharged my batteries. |

Hi Eric
If Larry hadn't spotted the slightly soft foreground you would have got it past me as my eye hovered over the foreground it wanted to go straight to the lighthouse and building which are so well placed in the image,Like Joe I love the building on the far shore it really adds balance to the picture as do the 2 objects on the water.A really well composed and balanced image which I love as it is. |

Hi Vella
Having lived my life either side of the River Mersey and being lucky to regularly use the Mersey Ferries I can confirm it is extremely difficult to get such a sharp image from a moving boat,so well done.
As already stated you did a fantastic job of getting so much colour out of the hillsides and the positioning of the low clouds adds real interest and contrast to the image.
I had 2 thoughts the first was I wondered if a crop from the bottom to just below the hillside reflection may cut out some of the highlights and looking at the original this could make a very moody mono image.
A great shot and a wonderful memory for you.

Hi Guy
I had a much anticipated 5 day trip to the lakes last week in September 2019 every waking day was a monsoon the only lake I saw was the one in the hotel car park so you did much better than me.
Love the autumn colours and the softness on the hills the light is stunning, the pontooon is ideally placed, the white building gives such a sense of scale if you had not brightened it I may not have noticed it.You have caught the mood of the day superbly Guy. |

Hi Bill
Sharp all the way through I feel I could reach out and pick it up,the colours so vibrant and the flower perfectly placed in the frame for me, as Guy said would make a great print. |

Hi Isaac
Wonderful lighting and superb detail throughout love the way the eagles looks very very alert, this may be a normal sight for you Isaac but the thought of walking down a street in the U.K. and seeing an Eagle sat in a tree is something I just cannot imagine. Fantastic image. |

Hi Joe
Really good lead in with the gentleman really well placed in the frame to add a stop for the eye I have to agree with Guy and Isaac I would like to see the area above the arch cropped down even though it does have some really good texture,on my monitor the orange looks really overpowering and I would tone that down a touch. |

Hi Ella
This is one of those sculptures I am sure if it was on dry land you could walk round it and find some very interesting angles besides this one but with its location I would image that was impossible you know I love shapes in pictures so this really appeals to me the darkening of the background has really allowed us to enjoy the flow of the installation, there is great detail in the shadows as well where it needs to be.My only observation would be to just tone the highlights down a touch as they are a little bright on my monitor.
But a lovely shape image well seen and very well recorded. |

Hi Michael
Love the way you have managed to isolate the rocks and make then stand out I like the angle you have taken the image from it gives them stature I think the sky really helps and adds some contrast.
Many congratulations on your contribution to the showcase. |

Hi Peter
Wow that is quite some storm both images are so strong in their own rights.
The mono image is so atmospheric the lighting superbly controlled the tones are spot on and the crop perfect but many a judge around the world have already told you that before I did.
Many congratulations on your 100th upload and since I have been a member of the Group every one of them have been of the highest standard. |

Hi John
You have reached your target audience because I can't name the planet, seriously lockdown has created great limitations on photographers around the world so finding things to experiment with in the house and garden is a great idea don't ask me what but there is something appealing to me about the sheer simplicity of this image there are varying shades on both sides of the semi circle I do like Michaels idea keep experimenting John this is how we learn and discover new aspects of photography. |

Hi Larry
Wonderful composition fantastic angle red can often overpower an image but it fits so well with the other colours around it the thing I love most about the image is the gritty textures of the rocks against the smoothness of the waterfall and the water stunning image. |
