Hi Mary Sue
What a great spot a lot of people would have walked past this and wow have you produced a stunning image from it f22 has given you the sharpness from back to front this image needed, yes the square crop looks good but for me your original composition gives a sense of scale and a really good lead in and the crack on the floor is almost like an arrowhead taking the eye through the picture.Whichever a brilliant image. |

Hi Erik
In the U.K. we remember those who fell in both wars every November 11th its called Rememberance day services are held in every town across the U.K. at the local War Memorials I am the official photographer for West Kirby and Hoylake Rememberance days service it is a job that has to be done with tact, respect and above all almost invisibility but it means an archive is being created especially as sadly the veterans are becoming fewer and fewer you have created an image I would be proud to have taken at the event. |

Hi Erik
Any great image provokes debate and my word you have half the PSA membership debating this one.Call it luck call it divine intervention but for me the sky adds massively to the solemnity and atmosphere of the image it really does add to the powerful message in my humble opinion you did right not to crop it out to me the composition is perfect a great range of colours but nothing overpowering I think Alisons thought the horizon was sloping because the beach does and this can sometimes fool the eye but to me the horizon looks spot on.Erik you have produced a very very powerful piece of photo journalism you should be very proud of. |

Hi Thomas
What a great action shot and as already said it looks like the rider is looking straight at the mouse which is a brilliant addition.
There was a master carpenter in the U.K. called Robert Thompson who made mainly church furniture every piece he made he always carved a mouse on the finished piece and became known as the Mouseman he work now is very much sought after I think we may have found the new modern day mouseman not only a great image but a very amusing one as well. |

Hi Guy
I agree with every word Alison wrote except I am not clever enough to have written it like that,I fell in love with this image the moment I opened the thumbnail you have captured the diversity of people enjoying in their own way an evening out in a major city its simple but extremely complex,I was just wondering did the bridge have a staircase up to it ??? |

Hi Bill
Great composition above all I love the vibrancy you have captured in the image the yellows, greens and browns in the lower half of the image sit so well with that amazing blue sky like you and the others I can only sympathise with you over the judging I think we have all experienced those situations but the compensation is it made the PSA video so will be seen by a world wide audience. |

Mr Magor you put your camera away over my dead body I did do a tighter crop which may see light of day in a comp sometime this year but the organisers naturally wanted the one showing the full schene just to warn you Brian there are more up my sleeve.
Take care see you soon. |

Hi Isaac
Straying off the tourist route usually pays dividends and in this case it most certainly did you have captured the craftsman superbly the shutter speed is spot on showing the movement of hands and marble chips a really well thought out and composed image that is a great memory for you. |

Hi Joe
This is so my sort of image love shapes in pictures and you have a myriad of varying shapes in this image lighting, composition and exposure are spot on normally an image like this needs a focal point to focus on at the end but this works without one I love Guys finishing touches to it. |

Hi Erik
I did do a much tighter crop for the 2 lovely people dancing but the organisers wanted the wider view but I will most certainly make adjustments as you recomended as always many thanks |

Hi Brian
You captured the moment superbly I was wondering if you converted it to black and white it would look like a statue on a plinth but as you know well I do think well outside the box.
Great people picture. |

Hi Ella
Wow what a superb composition the entire castle is framed by either trees or the reeds on the riverbank this really strengthens the image and focuses the eye on the main subject the light I imagine was very contrasty but you have handled it in camera and in post processing really well, always love seeing your work but for me this is my favourite for me its perfect. |

Hi Paul
As you know I love portraiture especially non studio shots so I am so enjoying seeing this the detail is fabulous and the exposure really well controlled I must admit I also thought perhaps a little more contrast but on seeing Eds version wow he has really made it pop, whichever you go with its a beautiful intimate portrait. |

Hi Ed
We all have our own styles and favourite types of shots and I can so see from your write uo your thoughts when you came across this scene and applaud you for taking an image that not only pleases you, sits with your style of photography but above all pleases you,as you and others in the group have said it is a very strong lead in and quite an unusual one but for me an effective one in my eye the vast amount of sky does take away from the maim point of the picture and which is the road and the tale that it tells so I have made quite a severe crop to it yes its a powerful sky but hopefully what remains of the sky I hope gives the viewer an idea of the conditions on the day but does now not overpower the main subject of the image. |

Hi Rashid
Firstly may I congratulate you on the way you have handled the exposure this has such a massive range of contrast but everything to my eye is perfect as Karl said there is so much to see so much interest in every area of the image then you return to the image and spot something different this is a brilliant snapshot of daily life in and around the mosque congratulations. |

Hi John
this really works foe me because of the interaction between the group on the left and the person on the right and the spacing between them the conversion to mono works and is very well handled and as already proven by the previous comments of what was the lady looking at it asks a question which all good images do well done John. |

Hi peter
Firstly many many congratulations on your silver medal.
As for this image the thing that strikes me most is the composition, virtually every line, curve or swoop takes the eye straight to the hut as always tone and contrast masterfully handled think this one might go one better than a silver. |

Hi Valerie
Thank you so much for your kind words which are so much appreciated I had never taken a portrait shot in my life until 3 years ago and so love doing them now if I get the chance at an event like this I use a camera mounted speedlite and the amazing Rogue Flashbender 2 which shapes the flash beautifully in this case the lady was sat in a large black Marquee so I just bounced the flash off the roof and got lucky. |

Hi Diana
I love the moody atmosphere you have created in this image it really sits well with the subject and the history of the castle my only nit pick I find the cloud above the trees overly bright compared to the rest of the image and would just tone it down a touch. |

Hi Grace
A great eye to see and capture such an intimate image it really did have to be in mono and so works for me amazing clarity on the Smiths hands and the leg of the horse something totally different which I feel should do amazingly well for you. |

Hi Manfred
I so love your portrait of the Joker a character I photographed many times myself as I cover a lot of Cosplay events and I have been an official photographer at quite a few major Comicons I was going to suggest totally darkening the background which is an effect I often use and so makes the character stand out and would just take those lighter markings out at the top of the image as for the Joker himself great job and keep doing these shoots they are so much fun. |

Hi trinda
Firstly my sincerest condolences for the passing of your beloved Mother.
But what a memorial you have captured the contrast of the foreground trees against the sun dappled mountain in the background is absolutely superb it will be a forever memory for you and an image that will stay with me for a long time and as already said get it framed. |

Hi Valerie
So love the muted tones of this image it sits well with the scene composition is spot on as the lead in line on the left really takes the eye straight to the main subject of the image the plant addition is a master stroke as it balances the picture and fills in what would be dead space as for the sky in my humble opinion leave well alone it sits well with the mood and atmosphere of the picture. |
