Hi David
You never fail to amaze me what a great abstract image depicting your take on Christmas lights and as I have said before you show us ideas and and make us think something a good photographer does, remembering a previous image of the dancer you have a great eye for the abstract image as Guy has suggested you could play around with various hues and use the image to depict different seasons see you really do have me thinking.Yo bring fresh ideas to the group long may that continue. |

Hi Guy
Superb image I have a friend who does mainly night time shoots and she prefers overcast skies because she says the the cloudbase holds in the the lighting in urban scenes.Newcastle is one of the few British cities I have never visited but I intend to.The image is superbly composed and processed and a very very strong contender in any photo travel contest. |

Hi Bill
A great spot and very well captured and presented I think mono was the only way to go with this image as Guy and Joe have shown there is an image within an image but you as the author will decide how to present it after looking at the various options on offer all 3 work for me. |

Hi Isaac
Looks like Guy has serious competition, great image superbly composed and at 1/24 second hand held you have incredibly steady hands which in your occupation is I imgine a major asset.I agree with Guy and Joe the bright red does draw the eye which is a pity because there is so much to see in this image and the more you look the more you see,it reminds me very much of the stairs at Liverpool Central Library a section of which Guy showed us recently superb image that I really like. |

Hi Ella
Still life is something I have never attempted and if I did and got this result I would be delighted I love the tones and textures its really thoughtfully composed and I actually like the apple at the back of the basket it adds a stop for the eye and also it creates just a suggestion there may be more fruit lurking behind the basket really well done Ella. |

Hi Rashid
I would never have known it was taken with an I Phone on my computer it looks good but as already stated many friends have sent me phone pictures and asked me to edit for printing and I find noise and definition are a problem when re-sizing for printing thats why I stick with my trusty DSLR.You have catchlights in the eyes a lovely lighting around the cheeks her expression is superb this is a really good portrait with character well done. |

Hi John
Firstly many congratulations on your 4th star,as Peter said a great lead in but what makes it even more powerful is the composition the way you make the viewer continually come back to looking at the river as the way the background almost encloses and adds a border to take the eye back Peters edit has just made it complete for me this should be the start of you heading for your next star. |

Hi Diana
I would darken the background further there is enough detail in the shirt to make it work and the lighting on the face and eyes is really good and would just make it pop a bit more try it and see what you think.
