Hi Erik
Sounds like not only a great trip photographically but culturally as well as Guy said you can only wonder what they are discussing a picture with a story I like Bills crop it still shows the scene but brings you closer to the subjects, what really stands out for me is the subtlety in the colours each colour compliments each other no one colour stands out but they combine to give a beautifully pleasing image the more I study it the more I enjoy it a well executed image which I will continue to enjoy throughout the month. |

Hi Bill
If you print this and frame I think so many people would ask is that a painting it looks painterly an effect I really like and so suits this image I agree with Guy about just slightly darkening the reflection the composition is beautiful with such a strong lead in line detail throughout not only a peaceful and delightful landscape but a wonderful memory of the trip. |

Hi Guy
I must admit I was getting worried no staircases in the last couple of uploads but this was worth waiting for the angle really suits this image, well seen I also spotted the smoke alarm and would take that out, I love the blend of blue into yellow at the top right of the back wall the colours compliment one another really well throughout the image and as always with your staircase images the eye flows all the way through,as for your original I would not give up on that because I really like the contrast between the staircase floor and the subtle hues of the walls and surroundings which I really like and there is great detail in the darker area, whichever Guy I think this will do really well for you. |

Hi Erik
Thanks for the comment I am with you on the tattoo situation but as I say it does add a bit more colour to the image. |

Hi Bill
Well seen and well handled as there is an enormous amount of contrast in this image for me the people absolutely make this image it would be a very pleasing landscape without them but they just elevate the image for me,I think you did really well using tripod as a brace only to get a shot like this well done. |

Hi Isaac
Another great nature capture looking at the bird and the amount of fish you say it had consumed it makes you wonder how it gets airborne as Guy has already said a really good composition and plenty in the frame to show the enviriroment which I like,I agree the original looks a little dark but I feel it now looks a little bright I might just go somewhere between the 2 but that is purely my view whichever another brilliant nature image. |

Hi Joe
Firstly really well spotted I love these spontaneous shots that capture every day life, the way they are leaning and obviously concentrated on the same item is beautifully portrayed I also love the way the man on the left is clenching his fingers just adds a little something to the image, you really captured the moment with this image its like 2 cats looking into the creamery.
Well spotted and well captured.

Many thanks Isaac I wasn't sure if the lip
stick was too bright but thought it contrasted well with the background. |

Hi Ed
As I say welcome to the group and thank you for your kind comments the one thing I have so appreciated about this group is they are happy to pass on knowledge and in this group Peter has been an expert at high pass filter sharpening and I am sure if you put a request on his picture he will advise you better than I could but there are some very good videos on you tube as well watch several as in all things some are better than others,my high pass is very basic and a little fingers crossed but if you do not get any joy please do not hesitate to contact me back.
Very best wishes

Hi Ella
I was so looking forward to seeing more photos from your trip to Africa earlier this year and this is a great capture nothing to add to what the others have already said I agree a slight lightening of the shadows would bring out a little more detail in the elephants but I can only begin to imagine how contrasty the scene must have been so you have done a great job,it maybe me as no one else has mentioned it but it looks like the image slopes a little from right to left otherwise one I really like it. |

Hi Ed
Firstly a very warm welcome to the group,I like the concept and the gritty effect really suits the image I agree with the majority of the others I would just straighten it I like Peters reduction of the highlights and like Ella said I would add a vignette to really concentrate the eye but a very well seen and edited image I look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Hi Rashid
I really like this a great idea and very well executed as Peter has said I so love the reflection in the bottle that really is a masterstroke as for the rim lighting on the top of the bottle I really like it as it is the eye knows what is there so adds a suggestion perfect image for me. |

Hi John
Your eye for the image we would all walk past strikes again I like the concept as the others have said it is a little lacking in punch one idea I had reflections usually show up darker than the reflected object in this case it doesn't possibly due to the strong sun or the angle of the capture or a mixture of both so I opened it in photoshop made a quick selection of the reflection darkened it slightly and added a touch of gaussian blur this was done very quickly but if you have time have a play with this idea and see what you think.Don't ever loose that eye for the unusual John. |

Hi Peter
The weather may have not been the best but you made the most of it with this image I find it very atmospheric I love the sweep from right to left almost forming a semi circle to take the eyethrough the image great detail and texture and very moody. |
