4 Jul 17 Comment Hi Erik
Firstly many congratulations on your medal in my humble opinion you have another on the way with this image I always enjoy your nature shots but this to me is my favourite so far its pin sharp packed with detail the white is fantastically controlled the icing on the cake the deep green of the fronds contrast perfectly with the main subject you may gather I like it and no in my opinion it can't be improved.

4 Jul 17 Comment Hi Bill
I also enjoy night photography as already said you picked your spot very well the 2 trees really do act as a great frame and the bench not only fills in what would be dead space but gives a sense of scale and depth looks like the shot was taken in the blue hour as you retained the sky colour really well when its dark you get that horrible orangy brown sky caused by light pollution if that happens I drop the temperature down in RAW and that usually works or a grad filter Guys edit has really cleaned it up nicely and given a really good image some verve and life.Really well seen and composed image.

4 Jul 17 Comment Hi Guy
A sunny day in the U.K. I must have missed that one,Bill called this right for me you could so see this image as a watercolour well composed and very well handled in what appears very very strong lighting I might just darken the greens a touch or drop the highlights slightly and Isaac beat me to it I would just add a gradient filter to the sky you have captured the English countryside at its best with plenty of interest to keep the viewers interest well done.

4 Jul 17 Comment Hi Bill
This what I love about this group not only the sound advice but the banter and chit chat,to me you have created an image with a Turner sky and foreground that van Gogh would have been proud of also for me you have created an image I could never have imagined when looking at the original so to me a very sucessful project which you obviously enjoyed and isn't that what photography all about I would hang on the wall in my hallway.
Good luck with explaining to Joe.

4 Jul 17 Comment Hi Isaac
As Guy says one image two very different pictures I do like them both for different reasons but if forced to choose I like the atmosphere and moodiness captured in the black and white image the contrast in the lighting is not only well captured but very well handled the positioning of the other 2 windmills is spot on and adds depth and and an insight into the local enviroment whichever you go with I don't think you can go wrong.

4 Jul 17 Comment Hi Joe
Love the symmetry of the image great textures the various coloured pipes lead the eye really well around the image but do not overpower it another great spot by you.It may be me as no one else has mentioned it it looks to be sloping ever so slightly from right to left I may be wrong, but another piece of history recorded for posterity by yourself.

4 Jul 17 Reply Many thanks Guy I was amazed some of the boats did not flip but as Erik says the second man is like the passenger on a racing sidecar team he has to distribute his weight to keep the boat down hard job if you ask me. Jul 10th

16 Jul 17 Comment Hi Joan
I love shapes in pictures and this really grabbed my attention a great spot and one I really like a couple of ideas the colour image is great but might look even more powerful in mono worth a try if you hav'nt already done that and maybe a slight crop in from the left but whatever a really well seen and produced image.

31 Jul 17 Comment Hi Rashid
I note your reply to Peter but I see the title he does have a look of pride at this point certainly not up to your usual high standard of work but do not give up on it I think there is scope for improvement with some careful editing I like the way the background and shirt almost merge but there is just enough definition in the shirt lighten the black in the hair slightly to bring out some detail there lighten the eyes and a dark vignette give it a go there is something about this portrait that has potential.

31 Jul 17 Reply Hi Rashid
Thanks for your thoughts as always very much appreciated I thought the reflection was a distraction but as you and the group say the more i look at it the more I like it so thank you to you and the others as always this is why the group is so important,

31 Jul 17 Comment Hi Ella
Another fantastic portrait and you know my advice especially as you know Susan and Larry get it entered in the nest PSA Individual Portrait comp great character great tonal range lots to study in the costume and mask masterfully composed and shot,I must admit when I do portraits at conventions I try my hardest to avoid shadows because it is a distraction I always get my subjects to stand away from the background and point the flash straight upwards but a fantastic portrait that will deservedly do well for you.

31 Jul 17 Comment Hi Paul
I have been experimenting with long exposure shots recently so its great for me to see this I love the smoothness in the water you have acheived the texture in the rocks contrasts beautifully with this tonal range is good the only suggestion would be to just bring down the highlights ever so slightly on the right hand waterfall otherwise a great image.

31 Jul 17 Comment Hi John
I really love the way the light tracks through the trees and takes you on a journey through them great contrast and well controlled as Peter says a slight darkening of the branch in the bottom left but I like it as it is I like the subtle tones a superb woodland view well composed and handled.

31 Jul 17 Comment I love the sweeping lead in line of the hills to the left taking you to the tree the hills the other side immediately sweeping up, beautiful composition and placement,my two favourite parts as John has already mentioned the first the outstanding rim lighting on the tree and the swirling fluid arch of the grasses in the left foreground that really is the cherry on the top for me.Another outstanding landscape image. 31 Jul 17 Reply Thanks John the main issues will be dealt with and I am coming around to the reflection this group is so good at getting you to look at thing in a different perspective. Jul 6th
31 Jul 17 Reply Many thanks Paul it was a quick edit and I totally agree with you and Peter the reflection is growing on me its just the background and the car are contemporary and the man is in modern day clothing but I will review when I have corrected the main issues as always many thanks Paul. 58 Jul 17 Comment Hi Isaac
Well worth the wait and well spotted it works on so many levels for me the black bike on the left the man has walked passed and ignored just adds to the irony brilliant capture well done.
