56 Sep 19 Comment Thanks Pat,

Yes we came across this lovely old bridge on a 5 hour hike through Beatrix Potter's various farm house and farm lands.
What idyllic country it is.

56 Sep 19 Reply Cindy,

Someone else in another context also mentioned cloning out the tree.
I thought it framed the image.
If I were to clone it out (not easy, I would only do it to the level of the bridge.

56 Sep 19 Comment This reminds me so much of our American coastal painters and of a Turner sea painting.
There is a moodiness to the scene that supports the breaking surf on the rocks.
Very nicely accomplished.

56 Sep 19 Comment Cindy, This is just magnificent.
No wonder it is one of your favorites
The grass works so well with the lion's mane.

Gerhard has strong competition in this painting!

56 Sep 19 Comment Terry your cropping was very effective to extract the key elements without the distraction of the poles.
the early morning lighting on the vessel side is most effective and very well brought out in your painting.

56 Sep 19 Comment Perfect to use a mono scene for these bi-toned animals.
I love the way the painterly lines complement the zebra strikes.
A wonderful scene.
Makes me, as usual nostalgic to head back for yet another safari.

56 Sep 19 Comment What II like so much about your painting is how successfully you toned down & eliminated the harsh bright white areas.
It isa very pleasing "medieval" scene now
the minimal painterly effect was the correct decision for this.

Enjoy the conference.
I wont be going.

56 Sep 19 Comment You combined two potentially lethal water animals well.
The lighting works perfectly as a result.
Impasto is one of my favorite modules. It is an appropriate choice & well adjusted in order to bring out the "scaliness" of both their skins.
