I love this type of scene &always try to capture them on my various foreign trips.
I dont think you should be bothered by the little painterly effect you could achieve. What I like what you have achieved in the painting is the smoothing out of jagged edges in the original & this is most effective. |

I find the painting has a strong jagged appearance to all edges and I find it a bit jarring. When I compare it with the original where the person's face is so peaceful, I find the painting gives me a sense of discomfort. I think I would have preferred to see it painted with a smoother edged brush. |

Apart from the fun aspect, the story effect is great - Baboons basically having fun in the muddy pool. I particularly like the painterly effect on the baboons & their eyes stand out so well. You successfully subdue the water & the background to bring out the baboons. |

Nancy, this is an enormously successful painting fro many perspectives. The story is great and it comes through well. I like the way you give the soft smooth appearance to the whole image (Is this the result of the brushes?). I particularly like the effect on her hand holding his.and the realism is good in the faces without losing the painting. |

Pat, you certainly did extensive modifications and work on this to create the final image. it is very effective with the silhouettes of the backs of the viewers in one corner and then the surreal light show. The painting of the lights is quite dramatic. i am sure this is not what you looked at! |
