thanks Pat for those nice words.
Earlier this month I was at a photo workshop at a horse & wrangler ranch in Wyoming.
I think I might post some from there!

I wonder if retaining a faint painterly form of the background might have had more complementary impact. I find the pure white background a bit overwhelming.
Apart from that the painting of the flower is beautifully done, while still conveying the essence of the flower.
In future please could you also give a brief description of how you did the painting. |

Elinor,
Unfortunately you did not send me info as to how this was created.
I assume you used Corel.
I really like the way you cloned out all the green and cluttered background.
You also very effectively kept a good tonal differentiation between the painted flower & the painted background.
The gentle streaked components of the flower are subtly very effective.

I think you have created a beautiful image.
i really must try this module.
I have Impressions but dont use it that often.
I love the streaky effect on the branches & the smoothed out effect on the lake that shows both the ice & snow on it well. |

You have obviously used a minimal painterly effect. Had you not told me I could not have guessed it was an impasto painting.
I have Topaz Impressions, not Expressions. I also have Snap Art & really like this program. I prefer it to the Topaz one

The two different painting techniques show up well.
I like a number of aspects. The thick paint on the main rock beautifully accentuates it and makes it the center of ones interest.
But what I also like is that I thought the lighting was a bit flat in the original, yet in the painting it looks great. |
