You successfully took a very contrast original image where the outdoors is almost burnt out and successfully created a very pleasing, and as you say, Fairy book, image with lovely lighting and good soft detail.
yes, I can imagine the young princess sitting by the window thinking how she would like to be playing outdoors. |

Nancy, I really enjoyed your gossip column. Quite a funny story in retrospect!
However, you did not tell us how you created the painting.
You certainly faced a number of challenges, but I always say that when one takes a good image under difficult circumstances, the pain is long forgotten with the enduring enjoyment of a great image.
This one meets those criteria perfectly. Your painting work has created a delightful image out of a weather-related drab scene. |

You clever converted a dusk shot to a night time one.
The duality of original (creative) and painting a portion of the final image truly gives an overall creative and artistic effect.
I particularly like the painterly reflection on the water. |
