You certainly started off with a bang!
I especially like what you have done with the green background.
then as for the flower, the overall lighter tones make the various parts stand out much better. The brush strokes of the green really work well. The stamen is particularly impressive.

Spectacular wildflowers is an understatement. What a beautiful park.
I particularly like the way you eliminated the dead branches in the foreground & replaced them with the grass. The sky is also markedly improved in the painting.
Overall the painting is much more impressive than an already dramatic original. |

I suppose the lesson is that infra red photos do not permit much modification.
It makes for an interesting concept. B&W painting - in other words stenciling with a pencil!
there is certainly more detail to see and easier too in the painting than the dark original.
I particularly like the umbrellas on the waterfront. |
