56 Jul 24 Comment I like what you ended up with, although its neck appears somewhat foreshortened from that angle. Giraffes are one of my favorite animals. It's hard to decide which cropping does it justice, but I enjoy the tiny leaves & twigs in the background, to give a sense of its environment. Jul 19th
56 Jul 24 Comment Martha, you got any hint of drabness right out of this shot with the exciting bright red strokes and true greens in the water, foreground. I wouldn't have spent much time glancing at the original, but now it's become an enjoyable work of art! Jul 19th
56 Jul 24 Comment While it looks slightly like tangled wood in the original shot, you found just the perfect brush effect to enhance the background without detracting from the main subjects. Both rhinos benefitted from the enhanced orangey red tone to liven things up. For a shot from a vehicle, this looks outstanding. Jul 19th
56 Jul 24 Comment Somehow, you make it appear the background wall is indeed undersea, without ruining the bright yellows of the sub. Nice flashback to the 60's - 70's. You live in an artistic area, it would seem. Jul 19th
56 Jul 24 Comment Thank you Nancy! Glad you liked it, and took time from your busy schedule to comment. Hope you enjoy all your other endeavors this summer. Jul 19th

86 Jul 24 Comment I hardly ever see a shot that a bokeh effect supports the subject as well as this; it usually just distracts me. The soft pinks and purples of the foxgloves show up well against the bokeh-softened green background. Very charming shot! Jul 22nd
86 Jul 24 Comment As long as perspective gets distorted anyhow from this low angle, the cable car wires give this shot a unique off-beat frame against the fogginess that make it distinctly a San Francisco shot! It's neat that you were able to incorporate the cables as part of the final image instead of removing them. Jul 22nd
86 Jul 24 Comment Something about the leaves against the familiar moon shadows strikes me as an Asian appearance. I think the leaves give it a fresh, unusual look. To me, it looks better than the average full moon shot! Jul 22nd
86 Jul 24 Comment What a gorgeous sky, AI or not! The bright tones set off the velvety greens in the grass and with the trees in mid distance, the scene appears harmonious! Nice shot, Susan. Jul 22nd
86 Jul 24 Comment I am enjoying all the different colors of glowing needles: intense red, yellow , orange and almost invisible (on the Joshua tree itself) in just one shot! I like that embracing arm of a branch arching "protectively" over the short cacti below. Love those sunrise colors you captured on your phone! Jul 22nd
86 Jul 24 Comment Steven, I am thankful to be able to peruse all these images with their varying perspectives, especially the overall shot submitted to your other group. I think that, without the caption and backstory, this closeup-either in color or mono-would have made me wonder what action was shown in this closeup. I had no idea how exacting/demanding the Waterford procedure is! I have toured 3 other glass factories and never saw a craftsman like this at work. Thanks for the perspective. Now I can appreciate your image. I think I like it best in color this time. Jul 22nd
86 Jul 24 Reply Good question. I guess newer phones have become larger. Unless mine dies, I might not replace it for a year or two. I still like the size if the mini, as it's easy to look at. This model doesn't have lots of lenses built in like the rear of a phone, but it's fine for a record shot. I have no problem holding it steady. Jul 19th
86 Jul 24 Reply I owned an iPad when those first came out and it was unwieldy as a camera, then I got a mini when it was available and it was easier to point & shoot with, not to mention, carry. Not being much of a phone person, I waited until iPhone version X, which touted a better camera. So the reason I didn't take this shot with a cell phone was just that I didn't own one when this scene happened. I think the original was probably a higher sharper resolution, but all I see now in my files is this lowered res version. I liked it still, so I decided to use it despite the pixelation. Jul 19th
