Thanks, all for some concrete suggestions for improvements that hadn't occurred to me. Much appreciated as I had not noticed some of these things when caught up in the overall scene. |

Your diversity of subjects never fails to impress me, especially after I see your vision brought to life in your submissions. This painting is no exception, or rather, I should say, it makes an exceptional painting with your addition of mixer brushes! |

Gerhard, I love the bird and the flower, both, but found the background somewhat 'rough' for my taste, as it drew my eye away from the subjects. The petals on the flower show up 'way better in your final rendition. |

Your objectives for this image were somewhat difficult: to create some illusion of underwater at the same time as keeping the unique street art look. It appears you succeeded! Cindy had a good suggestion, too, but I already like your original idea.
(sorry to be so last-minute but I've been under the weather (not under the sea!) most of this month and just wanted to get my 2 cents in.) |

You certainly do find interesting subjects all around you, Kieu-Hanh! Good job blurring the background to emphasize your violinist. You still benefit from the colors in the blurred background from otherwise-would-be-distracting people. |

I think I would crop just a little of the very top, leaving the top rung of the web. You already shot the entire structure in this shot. This particular web looks like a feminine lacey necklace, especially with the lovely rose nearly in the middle. |

Sorry to hear your area was one of the ones hit. We had bad tornadoes 4 years ago which killed 3 people and destroyed lots of homes, 2 schools and big warehouses. The aftermath of getting back to normal takes forever! I couldn't quite tell whether this was a tree that fell to block your door, as it's quite dark. On the other hand, you got a perfect sunset framed really well to show its glow throughout the top part of the scene. |

I like your crop as I didn't think the one that got lopped off added anything. It looks stronger and less tilted the way you chose to present it. |

On the hottest days of summer, I got the shivers with this one! I like the deep cool blues. The crossing/meeting diagonal lines make this stand out. It's like a painting to me. |

Steven, after we took classes in a studio that provided models, the PSA conferences were the only place we were able to shoot any models, so it's good you were able to get such a great image with a cell phone. I would have thought it looked like a regular SLR shot. We didn't use cell phones back then, so I never tried a model shoot with one. Here, you really got the hair and skin tones well and even the red eyeshadow shows up. |
