56 Apr 24 Comment Cindy, I would probably have passed by this tacky old window without thinking of taking one shot, but you've made me see it as a charming background, now that it's done in black and white with the bright red cardinal perching on the sill. It's fascinating to see all the iterations you put it through to arrive at this final image-which I like very much. I also like the one with all the leaves. Apr 23rd
56 Apr 24 Comment I like the energy that radiates from the petals in this sunflower, rather like the sun, itself! The so-so foreground was much improved in your final, more colorful image. Apr 23rd
56 Apr 24 Comment It's a very interesting "portraiture" of a single tulip bud with all its muscles or veins well-delineated in green against the dark purple petals. It sort of reminds me of a praying hands gesture. Kudos on taking up yet another photo brush editing software self-challenge, Nancy. Well done! Apr 23rd
56 Apr 24 Comment Well, here's one I don't just see any day! The extra color produced by editing this really enhanced this subject. Also, good idea to remove the distraction of the too-bright light bulb on the left side. Too bad the alien disappeared so soon, as it looked like he was right at home. Apr 23rd
56 Apr 24 Reply I like your left side cropping and don't think anything of value was over there, so thanks for your observation, Cindy. Apr 23rd

86 Apr 24 Reply I usually do post my originals, but noticed that nobody else was doing that, so I decided not to this month, since the original was not very different. Apr 23rd
86 Apr 24 Comment Thank you, everyone for your comments! I'm glad you enjoyed my closeup and thought, as I did, that it was kaleidoscopic! Apr 23rd
86 Apr 24 Comment Years ago, we were on the Ramblas in Barcelona, but don't recall a spot with such shiny reflections, as you found and captured so well. The other jewel-tones of purplish blue and deep red complement the golds in the walkway and make the night scene come alive. Apr 23rd
86 Apr 24 Comment Jack, thanks for mentioning your vineyard's website. It was just this month when I was wondering what wines came from there, as we had some bottles of wine from California while celebrating our 49th anniversary. Here is another gorgeous shot in your own backyard. The vines at attention in their formations, flanked by lit-up clouds that promise a pretty sunny day after fog clears. (While I'd hate driving in it, we have enjoyed 'fog walks' when local scenery looks other-worldly and peaceful, as yours does.) Apr 23rd
86 Apr 24 Comment Thanks for the Eastertime greetings, complete with bunnies and decorated eggs! I had to go back up & look for the border you added, ad it blends into the grass quite well. The Bluebonnets are the topper, so I wish you'd had another patch of them in the foreground. Around Easter, a mallard laid eggs in our front yard-but sadly, she abandoned them, now we have 2 tiny bunnies visiting our backyard for a couple weeks. Your bunny on the left is the most realistic-looking, but it's a nice gang of 3 of a kind.

86 Apr 24 Comment Maybe the stairway is the only part of the dunes one is otherwise allowed to walk on, but I agree, it's funny that the sign is confusing! And from this angle below, seems to lead right to a blank post. I like the realistic color of the sand, so I wouldn't think changing to monochrome would be an improvement in this case. We used to go camping near large dunes in Michigan and "sand surf" all the way down in our fun teen years. Didn't have warnings like this, so I hope we didn't inadvertently mess things up for the present day. Apr 23rd
86 Apr 24 Comment Before I forget to say it, congratulations on your God Rays photo displayed in the Showcase slideshow! Well-titled superb shot!
Despite the soft blur of this shot, you got a nice impression of a childhood moment in the life of an active little girl. I hope you gave a copy to your guide. Your extreme closeup captured the essentials of this shot: her sweet expression.

86 Apr 24 Comment Since you've already addressed the tilt angle everyone else already mentioned, I won't need to. I loved your back story about how extra special this game turned out to be! Even the clouds look happy and make a great background for a nice sharp image. Your choice of black and white gives a feeling of 'this could be a game we attended in the past'. Apr 23rd
