So adorable, Cindy. It looks so real that I fear he'll stand up & fall out! You even had to create all his little fingers on the left side of the painting (his right hand). So much detail, yet you were able to keep his attentive expression. The globe was a nice creative touch. |

As others have noted, you composited so well, we would not have guessed it started off with more than a single shot! In addition, you also have achieved such skill using mixer brushes. It doesn't seem so long ago you mentioned you were starting to experiment with them. Once again, you presented a wonderful painting of animals in the wild. |

Trey, this image has such unusual-yet lovely-lighting which emanates from the side and rear. Throughout your post processing and painting procedures, you were able to keep that glow on this stunning floral scene. Really like this a lot!
PS: You made me chuckle when I got to your "TECH STUFF" for the photography part, because, to a botanist, the whole first part would have been 'tech stuff.' |

Welcome, Jaci! It looks as though you already are creating lovely painting from your photography. From a step back, my imagination sees hot flames where petals were and a sort of phoenix-like bird form where the pistil and stamens originate-or is that just me? |

I see the general consensus is my original is better left as is. ;-) Just trying a different look. Nothing ventured/nothing gained. Thanks for all your comments. |

I always can count on your images to transport me to the DC area-which I only have visited once, after Bicenennial-to see some wonderfully interesting displays that just keep coming. This installation was a good solution to disguising a jumble of messy construction and you were able to create a pleasing image of this stage with your work in bringing out the colors. The intense sky looks just fine to me. |

I vote to keep the slight angle. The black-and-whiteness of the composition call to mind piano keys and music stanzas (as well as the cross-shape previously noted). The slight amount of shading contributes to the depth. Nobody would ever think of a street scene in Mexico, of all things. I like it very much! |

Ruth, this marigold is so nice and bright and sharp. The layered ruffles don't even obscure the little ant as it pays a visit. I like the amount of cropping you did. |

Nice to have your trusty cell phone along when you spot such a scene while killing time in an airport. The sun through the panes in the roof created an interesting plaid pattern on the extensive carpeting. |

I never realized how much a close-up of whirlytwurly maple seeds could resemble ginkgo leaves! But they sure do. Good eye, the way you composed this on the white backgr0und. Very cool! |

This one makes me feel as though I'm stumbling unsteadily through a covered bridge. I like seeing where the painterly soft effect took you, but next time, try to remember to also shoot one "regular" shot, just to compare. |
