Nice job recreating pink ribbons on the shoes. What a wonderful idea for a still-life/painting! I admire the brush strokes you used and the creation of the sparkly areas at the bottom. |

The original foggy scene didn't appear impressive enough to shoot, but when you transformed it (both in painting and I-R) it was given new life. I'm glad you pointed out the infrared version. It's my favorite of the several versions. Your painting of the blushing clouds and variegated blue sky above green trees liven things up here. It lent itself to becoming quite a lovely painting. A very peaceful scene. |

I always did like rainbows and this European Bee Eater is such a living rainbow! The grey background sets it off so well. While I don't see any rain on it, this gorgeous bird certainly benefited from the brushmarks among its feathers. Wonderful shot and great job in PS cc, Gerhard! |

Your cropping and treatment gave this lovely bird an otherworldly soft quality. I especially liked the way the spreading feathers are now emphasized.

I liked your idea of "yesterday, today, tomorrow", Trey. Also, the lightning look of the flowers give them an added sparkle the original lacked. Very nice. |

Thank you for your comments, Cindy. I guess I don't need quite so much sky after all. I think I just left it in, focusing on the solar/sky-ness pouring down on the scene. |

This image has all it needs to capture the idea and none of the distractions we often have to eliminate in a quick shot with a cell phone. I guess in the future, we won't refer to a style as VanGogh or Renoir, but rather a "Vu" (or a Kieu-Hanh?) Every element is perfect, the lighting, colors, subject, realism. |

Hay bales and clouds spread out as far as the eye can see! What a terrific scene of Palouse harvest time. I just want to echo what Kieu-Hanh and Gene mentioned: that the hay could benefit with slightly more golden tones cranked up just enough to lighten the ones at the lower left a smidgen. |

Ruth, your latest addition to the collection stands out nice and sharp and perfectly colored. Also, unlike our visitor from the other group, I had no difficulty spotting the bee. HMMM. It was nice of her to drop by and show us her version, though.
I wouldn't mind seeing the background looking even darker to hide the light grasses, if you can manage it. |

It's just my imagination, but I see the face of a surprised grasshopper or other insect in the very center after your edits. Your "not-a-dandelion" is a striking-looking seed head for sure. I like the background you created, sort of outer-space at the top with a leafy tribal look under the seedhead. The colors created during your processing also livened things up quite a lot. |

The original looks a lot like a painting and the final image, like a flower frozen in ice. It sounds like you had some fun with several different photo apps before it reached the final stage. (I do that a lot.) Even if you'd had a definite plan, it's fun to experiment and see what happens. Also, you chose an apt title! |

Gene, I might have twiddled with the highlights more had I been editing in Photoshop, but given the limitations of the small cell phone screen, I'd have probably just have messed it up. Still, a good suggestion for future iterations, so thanks. |
