Your wolf's fur makes me want to reach out and touch him. It's very realistic. Although I am not a fan of gorey things, I agree with Trey that a little more of the red blood would make sure to get the idea across that the wolf just brought down this deer, rather than it's just laying down there. The faint trees form a lovely background for this well-composed shot. |

The hills in the background look like Irish castles in the distant mist. And you removed the house and diminished the strong reflections. You certainly did a lot of changing of the original shot--even a totally different type of boat! It's always fun to see the great change from what you started with--and that one even had a different feel to it. Very moody... |

It's wonderful how this tightly-focused closeup captures JUST the right elements for a striking and touching image. Both you and Nancy are doing interesting things with drawing tools this month. I like what you did with the background, too, Gerhard. |

I had the same reaction about the dark bar, or maybe it's part of a window or easel behind, but it takes something away from the floral composition. The rendition certainly has an authentically charcoal-y look now. I think you can say you have the hang of doing this technique already, Nancy. |

I like those soft, ruffley petals and you were right to keep the complementary colors as they were. You started with petals and turned them into silk. |

Now that you mention it, the skater bringing up the rear seems rather annoying to me, too. Everyone else is leaning forward and he just looks like he's strolling along, so I think I will clone him right out for the future. Good useful comment! (I had kept the onlooker along with the street signs just to show the setting was a main downtown street race.) |

I love the composition of this and that you left the sky and foreground bushes in, which balances it very well. The sharpened foliage is almost painterly and grabs my eye and leads it up to the columns stretching into the clouds. |

Phillipa, you surely do come up with some hum-dingers! I really like the variety of colors and shapes that mingle in this fanciful abstract. |

Very impressive! What started out as a drab-toned yet interesting architecture came alive under your fingers. The rich colors make it easier to admire the talents of builders from the past. |

This is some good duck portraiture, a nice colorful pair. All I would suggest is to find a way to burn-down/vignette the 4 corners slightly. |
