The lake never did bother me at all, just the sky in the original. I agree the lake beyond adds a feeling of depth. |

These two tots are certainly engrossed in their "work"! You did a super job of conveying their intent concentration on a fun-looking project, Nancy. I like the background which coordinates well with the children subjects. |

Yes, this is unlike any of your previous images, Gerhard. It looks just like you did a pen and ink version. I like how the elephant's wrinkles show up and keep its character. Inspiring. I am going to have to try something similar in the future. |

I enjoy the variety of colors you brought out in the rocks. It's hard to believe the darker, greyish original was able to produce such a range, yet keep to a rusty-orangy-brownish theme overall. I can certainly see why you took this shot. Make sure to use it for a screen-saver too, so you can enjoy it on a daily basis. |

Your final painting is so much more adorable than the original with its distractions and washed-out look. (I almost thought he was on a sailboat with those big ropes.) You were able to focus on wringing out every last bit of interest in the little creature, including lightening the expressive eyes, meanwhile creating a believably jungle-y background and the realistic branches he's holding. |

I love the way you intensified the weak leaf colors to warmer brighter tones to complement the color of bark on the tree. It all looks more interesting now and gives a reason for shooting all this dying foliage in a place called Skunk. ;-) The presets you chose in Topaz were appropriate for this scene. I am glad you trimmed off the brighter sky area at the top which was not needed. |

(I would have missed the moon entirely had Ruth not mentioned it, so I zoomed in.) Yes, it is nice to see someone finding a way to enjoy the autumn within our limitations right now. Plus you got out on the nice day to include her in the scenery of your own artistic shot, Kieu-Hanh. Some days around here, I find it hard to hold up a viewfinder camera to shoot as a mask fogs up my glasses, so a cellphone is a blessing. |

Ruth, it looks like you succeeded in using Mirror Lab. I sincerely thought it was a straight shot of a sunset above a lake! |

I had a little difficulty figuring this one out, but you explained it well. Sorry they didn't sell at your exhibit, but your explanation makes sense; it's usually the people who KNOW they don't have this type of talent that are most eager to take home interesting-looking images, I think. The one I like best is the flowery-looking Impressionistic image at the lower left. Of course, you can take credit for inspiring some of your photography people to try to replicate the look with their own images. |

I am becoming a fan of multi-colored scenes with all colors of the rainbow, so this sure appeals to me. I don't find the softness objectionable either; it's watercolor-y. Since I have never been very 'into' poinsettias at all, I wouldn't mind having one if it looked like this one. |

It looks like there's an even split in opinions about the train. While it is interesting on its own, it sort of leads my eyes away from the fascinating old truck toward the edge of the frame. So I think Belinda is onto something helpful. |
