This reminds me of your painting last month, Elinor: people caught in the act of doing something outside an interesting older building. You did such a great job of cloning things out and others into the shot that I had to stare at the original to see how it was before. I liked how well you kept the work in perspective!
The final picture rivets the eye on the maid. The petunias form a cheerful uninterrupted border now. Great job, Elinor! |

I am sorry to hear about what you must be going through by now, Gerhard. Thank you for sharing personal aspects about your life with us. I will be praying for your treatments to go better than you expect and for your full recovery. I am sure you will make up for missing your trip with even more great travels in the future. You must have quite a store of excellent shots to use in the meantime.
This proud lion benefitted from turning to the opposite direction and the warmer color of his fur. Your painstaking strokes on the fur and surroundings are spot-on. The different types of brushwork are appropriate to each surface. You were able to keep his interesting markings around his eyes and multicolored fur. This is a compelling art-work. |

My first reaction was, "what in the world is this?" It's so out of the ordinary. It reminds me of dragon boat races in Chinatown, but nobody's rowing. You did right to clone out the legs hanging down. I do notice a few slight halos around some heads that could be masked away. Other than that, a very creative and eye-catching scene as they sail off to adventure. What fun! |

You captured the lush autumn colors very well and the Snap Art made a flawless painting. It was an interesting angle, with the foggy clouds rolling down the hills into the trees. It's really pretty as a painting! |

Thanks,Ruth. I was maybe 6-10 inches away and zoomed in with the iPhone. |

Yes, this is the sort of picture the viewer can nearly "feel". The waves in the water are sort of echoed by the 'waves' of cloud formations overhead. It was interesting to read about your personal Hawaii background story, as well. That V shape makes me feel like I am peeking into a special place. |

Well, Ruth, now I know what a pollen sac looks like. What a terrific shot! The flowers themselves are so bright and the fat bee certainly adds interest. I'm afraid I can't really detect any difference the glamour glow made. It already looked good. Maybe I'd suggest to find a tool to burn down the lower left corner a bit, as it's somewhat "hot" and takes away from looking at the flowers and bee. |

No, leave the birds there! You put them in such a good spot. Your edits took the image from a cool fog to a warm, welcoming natural-looking place. Both you and Carl submitted photos of hills this month, so completely different. But places I wouldn't have thought to photograph. Kudos to both of you. |

As Laurie said, I didn't notice the leaves touching the edge until you mentioned it, either (even though that sort of thing often bothers me when judging). Guess I was distracted by the loveliness of the overall composition. The tone was effectively changed from pinky to greenish and now the glass vase complements the same tone. By the way, I like how you added your initials which look etched on the glass. |

It looks like summer; I could just fling myself down on this grassy hill and rest. Carl, your treatment of the grass was spot-on to create a non-centered faintly bright focal point. It reminds me of a Microsoft log-on screen background I had about 20 years ago. Glad you kept the little dandelions. Gotta love Wisconsin. |

Gee, nice to be compared to Georgia O'Keefe. Having seen her museum and ranch, I appreciate the comment. You mentioned the white dot which I never even noticed. I think it must have been introduced in the final (framing) phase--too small to attract my attention on the phone screen. |

Thank you all for your comments! This was a new venture for me. It's interesting to hear what a variety of things are being seen in the final version. I have to agree it does resemble a Utah canyon or silky fabric, now that you mention it. |
