Good idea to tilt the flower to alter the direction so it is "looking" toward the viewer. The final painting has enhanced colors, while de-emphasizing the surrounding flowers. Painter and vignetting in PS worked very well together here. |

Your painting is certainly ethereal. Topaz textures added just the right amount of interest in the bald, bland, foggy sky at the top. |

It's such a peaceful image that I didn't even notice the campers on the right, on first viewing. It looks so natural and not "fishy" in the least. The warm colors are more inviting in the painting. |

In the original, I can tell they're sunset clouds, but your painting comes crackling with flames in the sky! Also, the tiny brush strokes look like tongues of fire. It's lovely to see the detail of the landscape at the same time as the sunset, as one's eye would. You even got the last glimpse of sunlight on the horizon. I agree with Jeanine that it looks a little better after removing the left-side evergreen tree, but overall, WOWEE!! |

That's an interesting-looking subject for a shot. Even though you didn't get to remove the somewhat distracting ceiling beams, you did the right thing in keeping the details quite sharp in this character's suit and hat. (Were it to be too "paint-y", it would be difficult to figure out what this guy was.) I enjoyed looking at this image, especially the colors and do-dads--what a fun photo shoot and painting! |

I really like both the original shot and what you did to make your painting. You were able to maintain the snow shadows to keep that dimension in the painting, instead of turning it solid white, and you have brought back just the right amount of detail in your horses. The wispy tree branches and brush-stroked clouds add a wonderful mood. |
