I like the composition, but it's overly pale and washed-out to me. It made it seem like you lost some of the details that made you take the photo in the first place. And although Nancy's version brings more color, it still seems too bright. I hope you keep playing with it and get halfway between bright and punchy, more of a pastel. I think you were right to trim away the branches on the lower right side to let the eye travel. |

It would make a commendable book cover, I think. The way you rendered the images together made each contribution more interesting. Nice job of stacking them up! |

Certainly an offbeat subject: shoes and boots as art. I admire the way the sketchy effect enhanced the bleached-out color from the original, and kept the background from distracting. It's fun to look at. |

Your original is a gem! Then I like very much how the work you did on it removed the strong contrasty-ness, so that now the scene is soft and dreamy, with enhanced color. One (very minor) nitpick is the darker lines/shapes in the clouds over the faraway blue mountains, between the center and right edge. Maybe just clone those to fade back into the clouds. Gorgeous painting! |
