The final painting doesn't look too different from the original, but it seems you nailed-it in your shot and didn't need to make changes. The only minor thing that I would suggest is to eliminate the rest of the fence railing and let the panda be free in the wild instead of the zoo. What a cute pose! |

I can't imagine why your judges wanted the center horse removed, although I do agree that the white horse didn't add anything, so you did right to remove it. I think the three of them go well together. It's a much stronger composition than the original. The background brush strokes look like the horses' hairy skins, nice and soft. It was nice that you were able to shoot the creatures up close.
(I saw wild horses in Chincoteague, VA this month, but they were so far away and I'd have needed a stronger lens. Besides, they weren't doing anything this interesting while we were passing them in the boat, just eating grass.) |

Cyril, I have to agree with Nancy here about doing something different with the bald sky. Or you could dub-in some beautiful clouds you shot elsewhere. Otherwise, I think this is a neat shot! Simple and effective. The paint strokes are just right to complement the subject, too. |
