I believe that was the sky. It was tone mapped with HDR and then enhanced some more in post processing - tonal contrast. There were also wires running through it that I cloned out. |

A nice photojournalism shot. I agree with David that blurring the background really brought out your main subjects. Your focus, exposure and clarity on the foreground are great. I wouldn't change a thing. |

Your compoition with three is strong and I love the backlight which really lights up the yellow flowers. I agree with David about darkening the background and I alo suggest that you lighten the catus too. I like that you got down to a low angle to shot this. |

Wonderful capture of the bee with great focus and details. Your depth of field is nice and the blurred background works so well. It's good the way it is, but I might suggest a slight vignette to keep the eye in the frame. |

I too like both images. They are both strong. I think the one you presented is different than most shots with the shallow depth of field that almost conveys motion of the center popping out at us. Excellent images that are processed well. I have n suggestions for improvement. |

This is a marvelous photo in every way. It tells a story and gives us a great look at travel. The composition is strong, as well as the focus, clarity and exposure. Well done. A winner! |

Impromptu street photography! That's one thing that is great about this hobby - we see things differently than most people. You found art in this simple scene. Your focus is good as is the angle. I would suggest cloning out the two sections of cars on the left so that only your subjects are in the frame. |

What a great portrait with excellent lighting and catch light in his eyes. The pose is great and the focus sharp. You captured it well. Excellent job! One little nit is I would suggest cloning out the small bright spot on his forehead. |

A beautiful curving stream that comes right at you. You have nice details on the banks and the motion of the water is well captured. I think I prefer the color version. It seems to bring out more depth and contrast, plus the colors are lovely. |

I think this is a good capture showing so many details. I like your narrow crop too. For me, it appears a little flat. I added a great deal more contrast. |

Nice details and the fern looks good against the dark background. Good lighting and color, too. |

I think you have a great subject and nice composition and subtle colors. I do think that since it is described as well worn, the texture and details could be enhanced/exaggerated. I increased the tonal contrast, details and clarity and then added a vignette. |

You did a nice job of focusing the black stones so well. An interesting and zen photo. I would suggest eliminating the grey stone on the left. With two focal points, I find my eye jumping back and forth. I think it would be a stronger compsition with just one bright "star of the show" where I can rest my eye. |

Nice capture of these birds and their interaction. You handled the white feathers well. They are not blown out. I, too, think you could crop in a little closer. |

I've been here and taken several photos - but never a close up like this. Love it! Like your shallow depth of field and the colors are superb. I agree that cloning out the smudges in the center of the frame would be good. Nice capture! |

The mushroom is nicely surrounded by the texture of the bark. I agree with Nelson that a more close-up view would be nice and it would eliminate the tip of the lighter area in the lower right of the frame. I might like to see a little more texture on the mushroom since it is the focal point of your image. |
