No focus stacking; I just dealt with the details in post processing. |

I like this version very much - even the second statue now that it isn't so close to the edge. |

So many beautiful details to look at in this image and you captured them well. This chapel displays the converging verticals very well (although, I am usually not a fan; instead trying to get my perpendiculars straight, but that's an artistic choice). I like that I can see through the door to the next room which certainly makes a nice depth of field. I think David's suggestion of trying HDR with this type of shot would be good. |

I like macro too and I haven't tried focus stacking yet. You handled this feather very well. Nice details and lines. I would like to see if you can get a little more detail in the top left of the feather. |

A very nice and peaceful scene. I like your low angle for this shot and the nice colors. You have good details in the foreground and a nice depth of field. My only suggestion is to add just a hint of light down the center of the frame. I like it! |

I like your monochrome treatment of this image. I usually say there needs to be focal point of interest, however, in this shot, I like it the way it is. It's all about the pattern and contrast. I agree with David, that the small blown-out area in the center can be easily fixed by cloning the top of another ice top and replacing the blown out one. Nice find. |

Technically, this is very well done. You have wonderful focus, depth of field and exposure. The details are so interesting. I can't decide which version I like best - I like them both! I might suggest that you lighten the main statue some; like it is in your original shot. I like the way the statue is standing guard over Union Station. I'm not sure you need the second statue on the left. I think it would be a better composition and tell a better story with just the one. |

My first impression is Wow! This is a spectacular sky and I love the headlight and taillight trails made by the cars, as well. The bridge adds to the interest. I like the composition of your edited version. Nice job. |

I like the panoramic crop and layers in this image. I think it makes a nice monochrome. I agree with Karl's suggestion to clone out, or use the patch tool, to clean up the background. If you do that with the light poles, don't forget to also remove the pole reflections in the water. It may take some time, but I think it is worth it. I would also suggest that you brighten up the bottom third of the frame just a little. |

Thanks, Karl. There were many interesting planes and helicopters to see. |

I always love your sports action shots. I like the way you stopped the action and that the three main skaters are in good focus with a nicely blurred background. I am usually a fan of your monochrome conversions, however, this time, I prefer the color. I feel that the skaters blend in too much with the ice and background. I tried to increase the contrast and that didn't look right. The color version lets them separate from the background better, for me. If you are not entering this in PJ, I would suggest cloning out the bright figure in the background near the top center. This would, of course, not be allowed for a PJ competition. |

What an improvement in your post processing. I love your panoramic crop and the layers created by the water, skyline, sky and clouds. The water trail behind the boat and curve of the water all subtly lead my eye to the Golden Gate Bridge. Nicely done. |

What a lovely shot with outstanding details. I like both the monochrome and color versions. You have nice leading lines and good depth of field. I also like the reflections. I agree with Tom that the bright, bald sky pulls my eye up and out of the frame before I want to leave. I used the sky replacement in Photoshop. |

While you did a good job of converting your original shot to monochrome, I like the color version better. I think the colors (especially the green on the rocks) give more detail to the foreground in the bottom right. I like the color of the sky and the similar colors in the water. For me, the people are a distraction. I don't feel they are doing anything interesting and my eye keeps bouncing back and forth between them and the lighthouse in the distance. I'm not sure which is your main subject. |

I like the details you have in this nature abstract. I think you could even crop in closer in different areas, making a series of square photos from this. You should look at Lisa Langell's nature abstracts. I think you would find them interesting. Well seen and well handled. |

Very nice shot. I like the sideway pose of the flower and the lighting. You have excellent details and a very nicely blurred background. If your original photo has the whole left side of the flower, I suggest including it, otherwise, I would crop in even closer so your crop looks intentional rather than cutting off a portion of the flower. |

This will be a photo that will mean a lot to your granddaughter. It's so nice to document our meaningful moments. Nice focus and I like that you blurred the background. I might be tempted to make her midriff black like the shirt and pants. As it is, it is bright and pulls my eye away from the purse. You could also eliminate the arm for the same reason. I see you already did it with the white sleeve. |

Nice shot of this butterfly, which is reasonably sharp, except for the tip left wing which is a just a little soft. I like the way the leaves frame the butterfly and I like the nicely blurred background behind the butterfly and leaves in the foreground. The textures are great. |

I love old cars and you have found a nice one. I really like your crop and the great textures. The leaves in the bottom left corner are a nice touch. Nice job! |
