You really captured the character of the man in awesome detail. I agree that monochrome is the perfect choice. The details -his face, hands, lock and keys! Not to mention your perfect exposure and contrast. Excellent work. This is a winner. |

I really like this monochrome image. I love old cars and you have certainly done this one justice. I like that you included the surrounding area in this strong composition. You have good focus throughout and I like the way the clouds almost mimick the shapes of the grasses. |

Such a nice gesture to remember Joe. I "knew" him through Print of the Month. Such a nice and talented man who was dedicated to PSA and was never too busy to anwer questions and help others. I love the textures, compostion and colors of this image. |

So many photos of Big Boy coming out now and this is one of the best I have seen. I love the low angle from which you took this shot. The details are wonderful and I like the way the steam and clouds compliment each other. |

I really love this image. HDR really brought out the details and the juxtaposition of the elegant sofa in the empty, old warehouse is captivating. |

Your post processing is excellent and really enhanced your photo. For my taste, there is a little too much in the frame which makes your focal point seem small and insignificant. I would suggest a closer crop. |

A lovely landscape with beautiful, subtle colors. Your depth of field is great and you have a nice use of foreground. Your focus and exposure are also good. I like this scene very much. I tried to give it a little more depth and contrast using Color Efex Tonal Contrast and Topaz Adjust to bring a little more drama to it. See what you think.

I like this image very much. I like the simplicity and negative space which gives it a feeling of vastness and aloneness. This tells a story. I agree with David's suggestion to crop the right side to the edge of the cloud. That way your subjects won't be so centered. I did notice a few dust sensor spots in the sky that can easily be removed with the spot healing brush. |

This is spectacular. The soft and dreamy petals and the graceful curve takes me right to the spider which has amazing detail. I love your use of negative space and you placed the main subject perfectly. This would be a winner in any competition and would be gorgeous as a metal print. I love it! |

Love the details and love the colors. So much to see and you gave it an interesting and unique composition, although it makes me want to see more. The plain blue sky really sets off the roof nicely. I did notice a litte noise in the blue, though. That can eaily be fixed with the noise reduction sliders in Camera Raw. |

I like both the color and monochrome versions, although the colors might be nice muted since you may want to make it look nostalgic. I really like the reason behind your photo. I have several heirloom pieces from grandparents and great-grandparents that I cannot display them all, so I have also been making still life photos of them and displaying those instead. As for the composition, it bothers me some that there are so many partial tools around the borders. I tried a tighter crop and darkened the bright area in the right side that kept drawing my eye there. The tools in the foreground are in focus and sharp but the ones in the back are soft. For me, this works, giving it depth. It might be fun to keep playing around with different compositions. |

I love the textures and reflection in this image. The center and right tomatillos are sharp and in focus, but the one on the left is a little soft and I find that a little distracting. I also like the tones in the color version. |

I agree that this image is well suited for monochrome. I like the arching water sprays that meet off-center in the frame. You have great focus, exposure and contrast. I also like the reflection in the water in the bottom right. |

A nice capture with lovely focus and lighting on the flowers, which look great against the green. Noting what Jessica said, I wonder if you can take this into the Camera Raw filter and open the shadows on the bee a little. I would also suggest a slight vignette to help hold the viewer's eye in the frame. |

I like the idea here and you have lovely tones and good focus on the figure. I would suggest darkening the background, if possible. For me, I'm not sure the reflections are working. I find them a little distracting, |

This is a lovely cone flower. You have great details, focus and exposure. Perfectly executed! I love the color of the flower and contrast of it with the blurred lush green behind it. Simple and elegant! |

I love old tools and you have great focus, contrast and exposure in this. The light from the time of day is lovely. I like your tight crop, however, I would have liked to have seen the whole saw at the top of the frame. I used Nik Color Efex Tonal Contrast and Darken/Lighten Center to add a vignette.
You must be related to Chuck Carstensen from group 50. I just looked at his take on the same tools. |

Lovely flower that is positioned well in the frame with nice curves and focus. I think it would look great against a dark background. For me, the fences and bright pole behind the flower are distracting. A dark, plain background would give it more impact. Next time, try draping a dark cloth or even jacket behind the flower. |

Your phone did a great job of capturing the details and rain drops. The main subject is very detailed with nice color saturation. For me, there is too much background that distracts from your subject, especially the bright dots at the top. I suggest cropping very close to the root and making it a panel and then darkening down whatever background is left. |
