This photo has impact and the contrast of dark and light is very eye catching. I like the composition. I was wondering how it would look if the foreground wood was a little darker as it pulls my eye to the edges. |

I really like this flower and I can see why you chose it because of it's personality. It looks like you used a lensbaby for this shot, although I can see by your explanation that you did not. I like the soft effect on your flower and the sharp area brings my eye to your focal point. I like the subtle bokken background. I think I prefer the lighter background colors of your original shot. |

I particularly like the lotus flower. You have lovely lines, beautiful subtle colors and nice details. For my taste, the butterfly is a little over sharpened. I would suggest cropping some of the right side. I know it's a matter of taste, but I would prefer the background was a dark, rich green rather than gray. |

You did a wonderful job f capturing this butterfly and keeping it so sharp when you cropped in. I always look to see if the legs and antennae are sharp in butterfly photo and you have nice, sharp ones. Love the burred background and colors. Nice job! |

I love the cactus flowers. You have a strong composition and I really like the blurred background which makes the flowers stand out. The colors are nicely handled - you didn't over saturate the image. I agree with David that the white looks slightly blown out, especially the middle flower. Perhaps using the highlight and/or white sliders in Camera Raw can help. |

That was a typo - meant clone out! I used the clone stamp in Photoshop. I used it to copy the windows to the right and "stamped" it on the figure. |

You can tell this is a great image to start with by all the time everyone has spent revising it. It's definitely worth the time! |

Welcome! I like the mono version best. The photo shows a real connection between you and the girls, who are lovely. The tones and exposure are excellent, as well as the focus. I agree that a closer crop reduces some of the distractions in the background, however, the background figure popping out of the head and neck of the girl on the left really bothers me. I suggest you cone that person out. |

You did a good job of converting this to monochrome and I love the addition of the eagle. You have nice range of tones and the machine is very sharp. What a great sky to add interest to your photo! I would suggest cropping the bottom of the photo to eliminate most of the grasses. For me, they don't add anything to your photo and in fact, pull my eye down and away from your subject. |

What a fantastic job of panning you did1 The car and driver are tack sharp and the background is nicely blurred. Excellent job! My only suggestion is to crop about 1/2 the grassy area above the tires. |

I like your subject, focus and composition very much. What a great seascape photo. For my taste, it is a little bright and the bald sky isn't adding to your image. I used the sky replacement in Photoshop and then turned the original color version into B&W by using a B&W adjustment layer and adjusting the color values with the sliders. |

This photo is all about textures and you have handled it well. Technically, for me, this is perfect. Beautiful details and contrast. Love it - I wouldn't change a thing. |

This is an interesting scene with a nice sky. For my taste, the photo is little light and could use more contrast. I used the Black & White adjustment and adjusted the color sliders to darken. |

After I selected all, copied and pasted the texture layer over the cow photo, I added another layer with it (third icon from the left) and used the brush tool to "erase" the texture from the cow photo. I lowered the opacity so I could see the cow and when done, raised the opacity again. A tip is to very lightly add the texture to the borders of your subject so it doesn't look pasted on the background. |

For this one, I put the texture layer on top of the cow photo, reduced the opacity and erased the texture from the cow and then turned to opacity back up when I was satisfied. |

I like the colors, water drops and blurred background. You have wonderful focus on the two main leaves, however, your main subject appears soft and out of focus. I find sometimes red is a hard color to keep detailed. |

You have an interesting subject and while I like the soft approach, unfortunately, this image doesn't work for me. The bright light on her hand pulls my eye there and dark shadows and colors on the right side introduce noise. Perhaps cropping the right side to her skin color of the cheek would help. For me, I would like to have had the felt and needle more in focus. |

I really love the sharp outside edge of the leaf and the good focus on your main subject - the butterfly. The nicely blurred background is a plus. I might go a step farther than Bob and Jessica and suggest significantly darkening the whole background to make the butterfly stand out even more. |

The first thing that drew my attention was the colors in this image. They are very pleasing and made me want to take a deeper look. The diagonal lines add tension and interest. I agree with Bob, that a vignette would work well to keep the viewers' eye on your focal point and not draw to the outside edges since they is now so bright. |
