You have become quite a bird photographer and it seems you have even found a way to get them to pose for you! By darkening the branches, the busy background they create does not distract from your subject. You did a nice job of blurring the background foliage to also lessen the distractions, however, the bright orange with the white dot to the right of the bird pulls my eye from the bird. It would be nice if you could find a way to add a little more detail to his feathers. |

You have nice focus and a pleasing composition with the cabin slightly off-center. I also like the path leading to the cabin which guides my eye to your subject. For me, it is a bit static with the head-on approach to photographing the subject. I am also often guilty of that and have been forcing myself to pull back and get more of the scene and from different angles. I wonder how the cabin would have looked if taken at an angle and from a lower viewpoint. |

This may be one of my favorite of your photos. Very well captured. Your choice of under saturating the scene is an interesting one. I like it, however, I think I like the pure monochrome and background darkening that David did. It really makes the heron "pop". |

I love this! The crispness, focus and clarity are awesome, as are the colors. I think this is a very artistic presentation of your subject and the background and reflection couldn't be better. I love still life photography and this is notch above most. What did you use as your base to make such a lovely reflection? Did I mention that I love this??? |

I like the contrast of movement of the people and the static ceiling. The colors and shapes are very appealing. The motion blur adds interest and, for me, focuses my eye back to the ceiling. Once David mentioned the still man on the left, I can't "unsee" him. I would suggest cropping him out. Otherwise, I wouldn't change anything else. Nice work! |

Thank you, Don. After flipping it, I used the ruler tool to straighten it as much as I could and then the Transform-Skew tool to level it more. |

Technically, very well done. Great focus and clarity and the white tire covers are handled well. It fits your theme of tires well. My only suggestion is to crop up from the bottom like Jeffrey did. |

Wow! What a difference monochrome makes! The weeds were lost in the color version, but you have really brought them out with the black and white treatment. I like Jeffrey's suggestions very much. |

I like your use of natural framing. Technically, everything is very well done: focus, exposure and clarity. For me, though, there isn't quite enough interest. |

Beautifully handled landscape. I like your composition with the horizon on the 1/3 line. I prefer the orientation you have. With Jeffrey's suggestion, I feel like my eye just stops at the road on the left. Your orientation leads me through the whole scene. You have good contrast and exposure, too. Well done. |

I love old rusty, textured things and this one really handles that well. I love your composition with the strong diagonal and of course, the number 3 for your elements. Beautiful details, too. My only suggestion is to add a little to the bottom. Although not a merger, the element on the left comes a little too close to the bottom of the frame. I also like the color version, but think the monochrome is best. I think this is a winner. |

Monochrome was definitely the way to go on this image. I think you handled the water motion perfectly; not too soft that it turns into cotton candy and with just enough detail. I really like Jeffrey's edits. The only comment I had on yours is that the brightness of the rock in the upper right pulled my eye there. Super job. |

What a nice find - three mushrooms all in a row and diagonal. I can see why you wanted to take this photo. I agree with the suggestions above: vertical crop, light under the mushrooms and darken the grass. |

I like this image quite a bit although I wouldn't classify it as a "close up". You have a very "clean" image with a wonderful blurred snowy background that shows off the red colors nicely. Good sharpness and detail. |

Very interesting. I agree that the ice could be a little sharper with a little more contrast. I would suggest cropping about half of the bottom of the ice away. The interesting patterns are in the top half of the ice. I cropped and then went a whole different, abstract way with this using Topaz Glow. |

A very sharp and focused image where you really brought out the details and textures. I like the visible cobwebs. Darkening the background sky was a good idea. I like your crop and would not go any tighter. |

Very creative and unexpected! You have a good range of tones. Like the others said, I would like to see more of the frame in focus, especially the foreground. |

You have a reasonably focused stamen, but after that, the rest of the flower is soft with a strange something going on around the borders of the petals and stem. To my eye, there are some blown out areas in the white petals and the background is a bit bright and distracting, especially the white bud at the top. Unfortunately, the far right petal of your flower merges with the white petal of the flower behind it. |
