I love the blue hour colors in this image. The builds are in great focus and crisp. I love the motion blur of the traffic and the colors they cast, along with the smooth water and reflections. For me, the brightness of the sun peeping through the clouds pulls my eye up and away from the scene. If it were mine, I would try cloning out the bright white of the sun. It is an excellent cityscape. |

You have a lot of detail on this dragonfly, including the tiny hairs on his legs. You captured it with a wonderful, blurred background. I'm wondering if maybe the contrast is a little too heavy because I am missing the transparency and details of the wings. Because you wanted to focus on the details of the head and legs, I would suggest cropping tighter from the top and right side. For me, your choice of where to crop the wings and the sliver of bright background in the top right is a bit distracting. |

I think you made the right choice to convert this to monochrome. I like David's crop very much because for me, too, the focal point was the tractor. I might even crop the top down a little more. This crop shows us the interesting background, but my eye is drawn to the tractor first. You have nice contrast and clarity. |

I love the shore and sea gulls. This one seems at peace in his surroundings. You did a reasonable job with the exposure considering the bright sun. I think it would be a stronger image if it were cropped in closer and if the gull was not centered in the frame. For me, the blurred rock in the lower left foreground is distracting and the bright white of the water spray pulls my eye from your subject. |

I, too am drawn to mums. I think they make wonderful subjects. As stated above, I would like to see a little more focus in the flowers (they seem a little soft to me) and a focal point where I could rest my eye - maybe a butterfly. I like Phyllis' tighter crop. |

How creative and unique! What a wonderful shot with great focus and clarity. The rim light on the spikey leaf is awesome and the composition is successful. I really like this and wouldn't change a thing. |

You have nice sharpness in the eagle even though he is moving. If you want to enter this in a nature competition, you have to leave the wires in and I think they are permitted. If not, I would clone out the wires and perhaps darken the background to help the bird stand out. |

Good focus and depth of field. I like the symmetrical composition very much. The only thing I would suggest is to increase the contrast a little to make it "pop". |

I really like this abstract shot with the high contrast you have. The curved lines really add interest. Excellent job technically and seeing the "art" in this scene. |

I like both versions. The color brings more emotion/feeling and the monochrome is more of an architectural shot for me. You have good contrast, sharpness and depth of field. For my taste, I would crop some off the left side to make it more symmetrical. |

I like the softness and the fog in your image. It s a very calming, peaceful shot. I like the monochrome version best and even though there is not a clear focal point, it works. My only suggestion is to crop the right side to eliminate the two trees. The bright space between them draws my eye up and out of the frame. |

I agree with much of what Lorna has said. I also like the monochrome version best. I think there is too much extra space and distractions in the background of your photo so I also did a crop edit. |

Technically perfect. I'm not sure what your intent is - if it is to document this penny than you have accomplished your goal perfectly. For me, there is no creative interest. |

Lovely softness with just enough detail in the flower petals. I like the curves of the petals and the shadows. My only suggestion is to crop from the left side to eliminate the triangle of green on the bottom left. |

What a great idea. The diagonal line of the pine cone adds interest as does the slow motion blur of the drop. I would like to see just a little more detail in the pine cone, and on my monitor the blue background seems a little noisy and pixilated. |

Love the textures and rust. You did a wonderful job with your post processing. The focal point is nice and sharp. However, the foreground is out of focus and, for me, detracts from the great processing and details. Maybe a closer crop, eliminating the left and bottom would work. I also added a little saturation and contrast to make it pop. |

Very sharp flower with a superb background - both the blur and the colors. I also like the tilt of the stem and flower. Very nice image. I wouldn't change a thing. |

You have good focus for the sunflower - even the tiny hairs on the leaves are visible. I like the colors and the stage of flower opening that you caught. It makes this a unique sunflower image. I would suggest a closer, off-center crop and eliminating the top left which is a little distracting to you image. |
