You maintained wonderful focus and very little noise in such a drastic crop. I like the moment you shot the bird with it's mouth open; mid-tweet, I guess. The blurred background is a plus. Great job! I don't have any suggestions for improvement. |

Very well done with wonderful contrast and clarity. The duck and it's water trail make the image. Good timing for this shot since the duck is in a really good spot compositionally. Nicely done! |

The deep purple color and contrast of the orange is very pleasing, and your background is nicely blurred. You have done a nice job of keeping the details on the petals. Like David, I wonder why you chose to crop the ends of the petals off. I prefer to see the whole flower.
I would like to learn more about focus stacking. I have never tried it. If you know of any good videos, please post it/them on the group bulletin board above. |

Very peaceful and calming. I like the tip of the kayak showing and wish there was even a bit more. I don't think you need so much sky and by cropping the top and a little off the right side, you don't need to worry about the big clouds which are blown out. |

Spectacular! The details, blurred background and graceful flow of the petals and greenery are wonderful. I wouldn't change a thing and would frame and hang on my wall. |

You took this at the right time to have the mountains in the background still visible. The lights of the buildings are spectacular and in focus. You have a great composition with the lights forming an S curve, leading me to the larger buildings to the right. I also like the composition of framing the subject and having foreground. In this image, the leaves on the right don't bother me, but those on the left are distracting to me because they are not in focus. |

What a great sky! I like Lorna's crop very much. For me, there are too many words in the frame. I find myself trying to read everything rather than taking in the whole scene. |

Wonderful job stopping the action with such good focus and clarity. I like both versions very much. I think this would do well in a photojournalism competition. |

This is a very pleasing, peaceful image. You have good focus and depth of field. I like the edits David made and I would suggest cropping down a little from the top. |

You find the most interesting people and your details give them such character. Your choice of monochrome is perfect for this portrait. I agree with Lorna that the colors pull my eyes away from her face, whereas, I am completely drawn there in the monochrome version. We recently had a zoom presentation with Glyn Dewis who has a project of photographing WW II veterans in the UK. He talked about not always having the subject giving you eye contact. In this image, I think it is more powerful to have her looking away. It contributes to a story. What is she looking at and what is she thinking? Excellent job! |

This is a wonderful architectural shot which is almost an abstract. The geometric lines and shapes are great as are the leading lines. Nice job. |

Very good focus and exposure and I like the tight crop very much. I think this would make a nice monochrome image, too. |

Wonderful, crisp shot with wonderful color and details. I like the water droplets and the black background very much. I wouldn't change a thing. |

Wow! You captured the moment! Nice details, especially in the web. On my monitor, there is a lot of noise in the gray background, maybe from over-sharpening. I would also suggest using a vignette to keep the viewer's eye in the frame. |

I like the simplicity and the blurred background is wonderful. The pop of red really makes this image for me. I tried flipping it horizontally and it felt like a more pleasing composition to me, but that's just personal choice and it's a small adjustment that doesn't "make or break" the mage. I also used Nik Color Efex Darken/Lighten Center and I think it really draws my eye to the focal point. What do you think? |

I know exactly how you feel about going out. I am still having groceries delivered and haven't been anywhere for almost 3 months. I opened your photo in Camera Raw and moved the white and highlight sliders down considerably and then added back a little detail with Nik Viveza. It helped some, but I like to see a lot more detail in flowers. I also think you have cropped in too much, cutting off the petals on the sides. |
