Thank you for all the feedback. I've been staring at this for so long, that I needed fresh eyes. |

This is a great close up with wonderful color, impact, composition and focus. Red is sometimes hard to handle with higher saturations, but you did a perfect job. I have a hard time keeping the whole flower and the stamen both in focus and you nailed it. |

This is a wonderful shot. I love the colors , which are nicely saturated, details and depth of field and, of course, the subject. Your post-processing is very good. My only suggestion is to add some lighter touches in the hills in the background and add a vignette. I think it adds a little more depth. |

This is an interesting leaf and the back lighting and blurred background are so nice. Like David, I think the final image is cropped too tightly and the blurred section to the right of the center of the leaf is a little distracting for me for this close-up shot. I have not done focus stacking and applaud you for learning it. |

The subject is interesting and I like that you left enough room around her. I agree with David that the image is unfortunately too bright and her skin seems over saturated. I tried it in monochrome, but the highlights were still too bright for my taste. |

I love this! The lines and contrast are wonderful and make this geometric, abstract image so special. The monochrome is definitely the way to go and changing the blue to black is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. |

This is a wonderful capture. The colors and clarity are awesome and drew me in right away. The subject is unique and interesting and your post-processing is handled so well. My only suggestion is to straighten out the lean of the buildings on both sides. I opened edit> transform> skew to do it. |

I hadn't noticed it. I like your flattened version much better. I'll try it. Thank you. |

Chuck, you have some really strong compositional elements - the S-curve of the stream and the placement of the fisherman, as well as his reflection in the water. My eye is first drawn to the fisherman and he is so dark that I am unable to see him. I find the whole scene a little dark for my taste. I opened it in Photoshop and used a curves layer to give it some highlights and I think they kept the scene from being too dark and flat. |

Thank you. I'm not sure what you mean by showing more of the horizon. Please explain. |

A nice image and, I agree with Chuck, the water dripping makes it. I also agree that the duck is a little soft and could use more detail. But, I like the color version best. I think it makes the part of the duck under the water stand out more and gives it more depth. |

You have done an excellent job handling the water, showing the motion but maintaining just enough detail so that it doesn't look like cotton candy. This is a lovely image that looks great in both monochrome and color. In fact, I like the subtle tone variations in the upper right corner in the color version. I wouldn't change a thing. |

I, too, like the monochrome version and find the lines and simplicity very appealing. I know that the hedge-like trimming of the trees is what drew you to this scene, however, for me, the patch of sky in the upper right is distracting. My eye keeps getting pulled there since it is one of the brightest areas in the frame. I tried it with cloning in tree branches and found the photo still had interest. |

I agree with Chuck about the good composition in this image. Your focus and depth of field are great and the smoke adds so much. The color version is very nice, but I like the monochrome just a bit more. The S curve brings me right into the scene. Nice job! |

Paul, I like your cropped version composition much better. It really brings my attention to the interaction happening between them. This photo tells a great story and I love the pure joy in the little one's face. You have nice focus and clarity and I really like it in monochrome. My only suggestion is to add a slight dark vignette to help hold my eye in the frame. |

What a wonderful food photo! Everything is so crisp and focused. The composition and lighting are just perfect. My only suggestion is to clone out the yellow dot on the plate. Everything else is so clean and orderly, that it stands out. Excellent work! You should put together a book on cuisine photos. |

You have wonderful focus, clarity and exposure. I applaud you for using manual focus. something I am not very proficient at. I would suggest that you darken down the denim background quite a bit. I think it would help keep the eye focused on the circuit board. I think you could also make a great photo by focusing in on just a small section rather than the whole board. |

I love the deep rich colors. You have nice details in the flower and I love the silhouette of the bug on the leaf to the right of the flower. It really makes this special. My only suggestion is to crop off a little on the right, but still keep the flower off center. |

I like the angle at which you took this shot and the repetition of pattern makes this very appealing. You have great focus, color and clarity. My only suggestion is to darken the upper right corner. Congratulations for seeing the photo opportunity when most (including me) would just walk by. |

The flowers are lovely and beautifully handled. There are good details and nice colors. For me, its quite a challenge to get the petals and stamen both in focus and you did it! The light background does distract me and my eye keeps going to the stamen that is merged with the bottom of the frame. |
