What a beautiful scene. I love the colors and the focus on the buildings to the left is wonderful. The reflections and lighting are beautiful. The only thing I can suggest is to increase the saturation just a bit. Well done! |

David, thank you for pointing out the need for darkening the right side of the barn. I whole heartedly agree. |

This is a very striking sunset. You have a very strong composition with the horizon so low and the setting sun off-center. You have nice colors and clarity. All in all, a very nice image. Great job! |

Very well titled because the eyes draw mw right in. You have wonderful focus in the eyes with great catch-lights, too. I agree with the others about cropping in closer. Not only do you draw more attention to the eyes, but you eliminate the less sharp areas of fur at the bottom of the frame. I also tried using the curve slider in photoshop to increase the blue to make the image less orange all over. |

I very much like the crisp colors and clarity of your photo. The diagonal fallen tree helps lead my eye into the scene. It looks like you may have had a few snow flakes fall onto your lens in the middle and a little to the right. Perhaps you can clone the spots out. All in all a very pleasant scene. |

Welcome to our group! You first submission is a very strong, beautiful image. The lines of the bridge "zoom" me into the scene. Such a beautiful sky which you handled very well. I like that you blurred the water. I love that smooth look. I also like that you opened up the shadows under the bridge. Nicely done! No suggestions for improvement from me. |

I like the red, white and blue against the dark charcoal of the building. I would try to darken the bright white, if possible. The green leaf reflection in the window is so very nice. It's too bad that the window goes across her eyes though. |

This is a wonderful scene and I agree with the others that the monochrome treatment works best. You have nice clarity in the foreground. My only suggestion is to blur the background hills. For me, they seem a little over-sharpened and blurring them may give the image more depth and let the foreground "pop". |

Wow! You captured the moment. I think this would do very well in a nature competition. You have excellent focus and nature story. I would also recommend cropping out the milkweed. My eye keeps going back and forth between your main subject and the milkweed. Well done! |

I think the monochrome version is stronger. I would darken the brighter spots in the background, to keep my eye from drifting away from the main subject, and increase the details in the milkweed. I have always wanted to get a good shot of a milkweed. I'm jealous! |

Welcome to our group! This is a wonderful capture of the interior of this cathedral. You achieved remarkable focus without a tripod. Both versions are excellent, but I prefer the color version a little more because of the warmth of the alter. I do like it straightened as David did. For me, architecture shots need straight verticals. You could submit either version into competition and do quite well. |

This cityscape is beautifully handed. You have wonderful contrast, clarity and focus in the buildings. They couldn't be any better! The movement of the clouds in the sky is a perfect accent. I do like what Jeffrey did to your sky. Well done! |

Well captured, Paul. This is a beautiful spot and I like both the color and monochrome versions. I like Jeff's edit very much. Cropping the sky and left side makes a stronger composition and the added contrast is nice. If I were you, I wouldn't forget about the color original. Adding contrast and saturation along with cropping out the sky would make that version very nice, as well. |

Simple and elegant. You have a beautiful, graceful lines and I love the diagonal of the leaf and especially the twist in the lower right corner. I have no suggestions for improvement. I think you accomplished your goal! |

Awesome colors and textures. This was a nice find. You have very good focus and beautiful saturation. I agree with Laurie, that the rock in the lower left could be darkened or cropped out to keep the viewer's eye from being pulled down and out of the frame. I wonder how it would have looked, if you had gotten down at a lower angle to take the shot. |

Although your image size is small, it looks to me like you have good details and focus on the butterfly. The background and lighting are very nice. For my taste, the red and white are distracting and I would have preferred it on a leaf or something in nature. Also a side or front view may have given it more interest, as well. |

I like your idea here. It is an artistic choice. For my taste, I would have like just a little more area in focus, (but not too much) and maybe a little cropped off the bottom. |

Amazing sharpness and clarity. The black background was a great choice and I like the way you framed it. This makes a nice presentation. I think you should enter it into competition. |
