By a "lower shot", I meant to include something from the ground as a reference. The placement of the Milky Way in the sky is fine. |

I always marvel at photographers who can capture an image like this. The Milky Way is handled very well and I love the dark blue of the sky rather than black. Unfortunately, the bright tree takes my eye away from it. I would suggest cropping it out, as I don't think it adds anything. I wish you had been able to capture a little lower in the sky to get the bottom of the constellation and maybe a little of the ground. As it is, is excellent, however. |

Your composition, contrast and focus are all very good. Your sky has just enough detail to have interest but not to distract from the scene below it. I agree with Don, that it speaks more of desolation than being well preserved. For me, the monochrome is much stronger than the color and a good choice. I don't have any suggestions for improvement. |

This is a very nice photo in what looks like a beautiful area. The leaves and foliage in the foreground frames the image so well. I can tell you carefully composed this scene and your composition is wonderful. The light coming from the right over the gorge and into your scene is lovely. The buildings are nicely placed. Well done! |

Your photo tells a story and shows the concentration of the musician who looks like he is lost in the music. It looks to me like your camera focused on the cymbals rather than the guitarist who is out of focus. If possible, it might have been nice to have the whole neck of the guitar in the frame. |

This is a very beautiful photograph. The leading lines take my eye straight to the mountain ad the S curve of the shore is lovely, as is the sky. Well done in every respect. A real winner, Bai! |

Thanks, Don. We enjoyed the Danube, however, it was last year when the water levels were so low. We had to change ships 3 times and be bussed. We're going to try the Rhine next September. |

I do not think the sky is too dark. In fact, it really shows off the train well. You have nice focus and details. I agree with David's suggestion to darken the tanks in the background. As they are now, they are competing with your subject. I find my eye being pulled to the tree to figure out what the light, cloud-like shapes at the end of the branches are. Not sure if it's possible, but I would try darkening or cloning those areas. |

You have nice leading lines and details. I agree with David to darken it just a bit and maybe add a little more contrast. For me, it is cropped a little to tightly. I would like to see more. |

You have really nice movement of the water and I like the monochrome treatment. Good choice of shutter speed. My suggestion is to darken the strip of white at the very top of the frame. |

Wonderful Street Photography with a great subject. Your details and contrast are spot-on and you have a strong composition. This is another winner! My only suggestion is to darken the upper right corner. For me, it is a little busy and distracting.
I join Karl in congratulating you on your Print of the Month photo in the October PSA Journal. |

You have great texture and details in this photo. I love capturing doors and windows whenever I travel. Technically, very well done. My suggestions are much like those above. I think it would be a stronger composition if you added space to the bottom and left. I would keep the top, however, so you don't lose the crosses above the door. |

I tried this very recently instead of Nik Silver Pro. Give it a try and let me know what you think. |

Until very recently, I did my conversions using Nik Silver Pro or Topaz. I tried Camera Raw once and really liked it. |

What an interesting plant. Your image is reasonably sharp with good contrast. You handed the whites well. Your composition is strong, however, I find myself wanting to see more of the flower (if you have it) in the lower right corner - just a little more. Reading Laurie's comment, I know where she's coming from, but if it wasn't so dark there, we would miss the feathery details. |

Thank you all for the comments. It's one that I really liked, but never did anything with. You've given me the confidence to put it in competition. |

Wonderful details and textures with an added bonus of the one liquid drop on the left. Your diagonal angle adds interest. I would suggest darkening the background to help make the weed "pop" and cropping a little off the bottom to eliminate part of the stem where the focus falls off. |

I am a fan of dark images. The highlights on the glasses are very nice and the golden and orange tones are lovely. I would suggesting making it slightly lighter, if possible and cropping some off the left side (closer to the candle). |

I love this! The lighting coming in from the left side is lovely and your focus is perfect. Nice textures, as well. My only suggestion is that if you have more in your original shot, to not cut off the 0 and Q keys. |

I also love the colors. For the most part, you have good details on the leaves, but like the others the blur of another leaf in the lower right corner is a distraction. If you have more in the original shot, I would consider trying to restore the rest of the red leaf at the upper right. Another suggestion is to replace the wooden area to the upper right by cloning the background leaf to fill the space or darken it down considerably. |
