I agree with many of the comments above. The story is the 2 fishermen. The out of focus foreground (bottom of the frame) and background distract from it. I would crop them out. |

This is a very interesting and serene image. The bird and reflection are very sharp and crisp and the background is nicely blurred. I might have concentrated on the bird, but then I would have missed the story and come away with an ordinary bird pic. Congrats for seeing the whole scene. My only very minor suggestion is to darken the edges just a bit to hold the eye in the frame. |

This is a wonderful nature image. You are getting quite good with your bird pics. You captured the bird in flight in a great spot; framed by the trees and branches. The background is nicely blurred and the colors are great. Nice job! I don't have any suggestions for improvement. I like it the way it is. |

This is a very nice, peaceful landscape, captured from a low angle which enhances it. I love the foreground and the simple background in this. My only suggestion is to lighten it some, especially the foreground. Nice capture! |

This image is one of layers - the sidewalk, the water, the trees and the sky. If your subject is the two kids as the title says, then you have too much of the surrounding environment, especially the sidewalk, for my taste. I would have liked to have seen their expressions (from the side) and what they might have been looking at in the water, if anything. |

I like the composition and reflection on the wet pier, as well as the low angle from which you took the shot. The color seems off to me and there is a white halo around the trees. I would have liked to have seen more detail in the pier posts, especially those in the foreground and I would have been tempted to clone out the signs, if possible. |

I agree with more space, especially at the top where the flower was close to a merge. |

You stopped the action perfectly. The details and clarity of the car are wonderful. The blurred background shows movement and you left room for the car to move into. I think the monochrome makes a much stronger image than the color. My only very small suggestion is to clone out the bright diagonal line leading from the car roof to the top of the frame. |

This is a very crisp image with great contrast. You took advantage of the bright sun and great shadows. This is a a study of geometric shapes. I would be tempted to clone out the street lights and scoreboard. |

I really like this scene and the way the stream has a slight S curve, taking my eye through the frame. The clouds are beautiful. I find sometimes HDR distorts my clouds but it has down a beautiful job with yours. For me, the trees are over-sharpened and the water just a little too smooth. |

Such a delicate macro of the bud. The Lighting is beautifully soft and handled well. The light vignette works well for your subject and I like the tilt of the flower. I have no suggestions for improvement. |

I really like the composition with the diagonal of the tracks and train and you left just the right amount of space around the train with room for it to move into. The steam is the icing on the cake! It's a very nice way to showcase the train. I would suggest darkening the background to make the train "pop" more. |

This is Portland Breakwater Lighthouse with Corinthian columns. I was recently in Maine and saw it from the water on a Portland cruise. You have a wonderful image with good details, composition and exposure. I really love the curved path and fence leading me right to the subject. Nice job! I don't have any suggestions for improvement. |

This image had impact for me when I first saw it. The red and green colors are very appealing. The flowers on the left are reasonably sharp, but those to the right are out of focus. I would crop in tighter on the left side. |

The flower is lovely and delicate. I agree that a darker background would have made this flower pop. You could use a black foam board or large green poster or construction paper to lean against the wall when you take the photo. |

I also like the colors and iridescence of the beetles against the green. The composition and lines of the front leaf add interest. If this would be used for nature competition you would have to leave it, but it if not, I would consider cloning out the spot on the left side of the leaf. Nice job. Next time, please send a larger file. |

Nice capture. I like the backlighting that highlights the wings and shines through the leaf. The main subject is in focus and the background is nicely blurred. I like Laurie's crop. |
