The main subject of your photo is nicely sharp and stands out as your focal point. However, there is so much else going on that my eye is pulled away from it, especially to the bright areas to the left. I would suggest a tighter crop. I don't think you need all the area around the flower and it would eliminate the bottom of the image which is out of focus. |

I love water lilies and you have done a nice job with this one. I especially like the reflection and the colors. The main subject stands out because it is so sharp and the background is nicely blurred. My only suggestion is to try to darken down the bright back petals a little. |

I like this very much. This industrial scene is very well done and interesting. You have handled the clouds very well. I wouldn't change a thing. Nice job! |

The feathers are very sharp and positioned well. This is a very nice capture. I agree with Don that some of the white body of the bird is blown out, but I think you could darken them some. |

The horses look great and your cropping is very effective. I agree with Don that your background suffers from your cloning. I think this image is worth the time to work on it some more. |

Great capture of this old train. You have nice details and I like the angle of the track. For my taste, the sepia is a little heavy; but that is really just a personal preference. That's the only thing I would adjust, if it were mine, except maybe add a little more room around and especially in front of the train if you have it on your original shot. I understand what Jeffrey is saying about the background, however, I think blurring it too much makes this look like a model train rather than a full sized one. |

I love this! Great subject with an awesome sky as a bonus. You picked a good angle for this shot. You did an excellent job framing and capturing the scene. I like this photo so much that I couldn't resist playing with it. On my monitor, the sky looks a little noisy, so I opened it on camera raw and used the luminance slider to smooth it out. Lately, I'm into more contrast in my monochrome images, so I upped the contrast to give it a little more pop (this is purely a personal taste thing). Such a tiny thing, but I would clone out the truck cab on the right. |

This is a beautiful abstract architectural image. I love the lines and sterile feeling it gives. The top is light and airy and it gets progressively darker as my eye travels down. Monochrome was definitely the way to go, in my opinion. I wouldn't change a thing. |

I like macro subjects and this succulent lends itself nicely to close up photography. The white outlines of the leaves make this photo and I like the angle of the plant. The three bottom leaves distract me a bit because they are not in focus as much as the others. I like your creativity and out of the box thinking. I am looking forward to see what you have in mind for next month! |

Oh my, the details are wonderful in your portrait, even the long eyebrow hair above his left eye. You find the most interesting people and your technique is extraordinary. Your tones and exposure are right on. Love the way his eyes are staring right at you and his smirk of a smile. Excellent work! |

I like what Jeffrey did to it. The roots standout much better. Congrats for noticing something unique that most people would just walk by, Paul. |

Such a simple and graceful image. The background is nicely blurred and the tulip bud and stem have good focus and colors. Very nice job! My only very small suggestion is to consider a slight vignette around the edges to keep my eye in the frame. |

You have a very nice reflection, colors and I like the one leg pose. I agree with Laurie that even if there was a hill, straightening it would make a much stronger image. I wish there was some detail on the head and that I could see at least one eye. For me, the eyes are the most important element in birds or animals. |

Lovely job on the tulip. The water drops add so much to this beautiful flower and the graceful stems are nicely handled as well. You focus and exposure are right-on. I agree with Laurie, that the yellow can be toned down, but all in all a great job. I like the idea of your framing, however, the two bright lines to the left and one to the right bring my eye out of the main frame to look at them. |

I like the way the light comes through the yellow petals. For me, the very bright background is distracting and I would like to see more detail in the stamen. I agree with Laurie that a tighter crop would work better. |
