I think a horizontal crop is better than vertical. |

Since we read from left to right, I like to have the focal point to the right so the eye travels through the image. I think it is usually a stronger composition. |

This is a wonderful night time image with great clarity. The reflections are awesome and really make the photo. My only suggestion is to crop off about half of the bridge on the left. I'm not sure you need that much when the point of interest is the scene to the right. Nice job and welcome to the group. I look forward to seeing more of your work and seeing your comments/suggestions for us all. |

Now that you point it out, I totally agree. That's why I love to run my images past this group before I submit them for competition. I like it better now... |

You did an excellent job with your post processing. This is a well done nature shot with great color and clarity. The birds really "pop" from the background. |

I love this image and the story that it tells. Technically, extremely well done with wonderful focus, detail and contrast. The image is so sharp and clear. My only suggestion is to crop the 2 men to the left. They are in a conversation instead of prayer and don't add anything to your story. I think this would be a winner in monochrome or photojournalism competitions. |

I also love the backlighting on the wing feathers. You captured just the right moment with a good shutter speed. I tried adding more contrast and lightening up the bird with the dodge tool and I think it made it "pop" from the background a little more. |

You found interesting patterns and colors and your focus is good. It seems a little bright to me and doesn't really hold my interest. I'm not sure what you want me to focus on. I agree that the bottom row is a distraction. |

A very crisp and well focused shot. You captured a good moment in time that has an interesting story. I agree with Don to crop out the Phillips sign. My eye was pulled over to read it. I might be tempted to clone out the Barnes and Nobles words and a few bright spots to eliminate distractions. Fun shot! |

Karl, thanks for the details feedback. Yes, the ring-tailed lemur is mine. It was from the December Print of the Month. |

This translated very well into monochrome and I, too, like the subtle sepia tone. Your details and composition are strong. Very nice job. |

What a lovely, nostalgic scene. You handled the exposure very well and there are details in the snow. I really like the window where I can see the back window through it. My only suggestion is to crop down from the top. I don't think all the negative space at the top adds anything to your image. Nice job! |

I love photographing orangutans and you have an especially interesting pose and composition in this one. Your details are good considering you probably took this through glass. I would suggest adding a little more contrast and darkening a bit. I really like it. |

Nice details and clarity in this image. I agree with Jeffrey, that the composition is really nice, as well. I think it works really well in monochrome, but I also like the color version as the colors of the fire are repeated in her top. For some reason, this doesn't grab me as much as your other portraits and I think it is the expression. Technically perfect, though. |

I like the simplicity of this nostalgic image. The lines of the building add just enough interest and the bike really "pops" against it. Nice details and exposure, as well. My only suggestion is to think about flipping it horizontally. Personal taste on my part, but I like the negative space on the left. |

Excellent colors, clarity and reflections. What a wonderful idea. I love your creativity. My only suggestion is to add a little more to the left side if your have more in your original so that the ball is not centered. |

Technically, extremely well-done with wonderful details, clarity and exposure. It couldn't have been better. I wish you had given it a setting (such as resting by a window or over a pair of boots or gloves) rather than "floating". |

Such a happy photo and fun to look at while it is snowing outside my window! You have good details in the stem and leaves and a wonderfully blurred background that really helps the flower stand out. I think that the flower is a little too bright and you have lost some of the details on the petals. I also think if you had left a little more room on the left so the flower wasn't dead-center, it may have been a stronger composition. |

This is what macro photography is meant to do. You have shown us an interesting, almost abstract image that we wouldn't have otherwise seen. Technically, this is a very strong image with good focus and clarity. I wouldn't change a thing. |
