Thanks for the suggestion, Sarah. It did look better against the black. |

Taking out the distractions from the background really help this image. I think you can still clean it up a little more, though. I can see a "ghost" of a head over the boy in red and the right shoulder of #17 is smudged looking. I think it is worth the time to clean it up. The faces are sharp and the colors are great. |

An interesting shot. I like the gesture of her hands and the details of her foot. The colors are subdued, which fits the hazy feel of the image. I would have liked to have seen her face, but there is still interest without it. I would suggest adding a little more contrast to help the image "pop" just a little more. |

Wonderful composition and colors. The figure is nicely placed in the image and the path leads me right into the frame. You have a nice sky that is not too over-powering of the rest of the details. You might try to darken the sky some because my eye tends to drift to the top which is the brightest part of the image. |

I think the framing of the house by the branches is a really strong element in this image. The geese on the front lawn lend a nice touch, as well. The reflection is so clear and I can see why you were drawn to it. It bothers me a bit that the shore line is pretty much in the middle. I suggest that you crop out the top of the sky since it is bland anyway and focus more on the reflection. I would also increase the contrast and darken just a bit. |

I think this is one of my favorites of yours. You did a great job isolating the rose from the background and left just enough greenery/leaves around it. The post-processing and details are "right-on". The lighting is very nice, as well. Nice job! I can't think of a thing different that you need to do to it. |

Another interesting "pixie" shot. You have nice skin tone and catch light in the eyes, and the details are nicely handled. I also agree that removing the bright light spots in the background would help keep my eye on your subject. |

I also agree that the color version is stunning with the complementary colors. I like that I can see the green foliage through the waterfall in the color image. The monochrome version appears flat to me. |

I like the sharp, crispness of this image. You have a strong composition and an interesting subject and I like the angle of your shot. The angle of the sun throws an interesting shadow of the fence on the left side of the barn. I am confused by the black trapezoid shape over the barn door, though. |

I love subjects like this! The setting gives a feeling of isolation and the sky is nice without over-powering the rest of the image. I love all the details: leafless tree, collapsing stone wall and puddle and I like both the monochrome and color versions. Even though the horizon is in the middle, it doesn't bother me in this image, because keeping the entire tree is essential. My only very minor suggestion is to flip it horizontally. |

Beautiful sky and nice texture in this image. I would like to see more tone variation. The sky, geyser and ground are all of the same contrast value. The small sections of background do provide a little variation in tone and keep it from being too flat. The horizon line in the middle bothers me some. I would suggest either cropping the ground or sky to move it. Since your sky is so nice (and not overpowering the subject), I would suggest cropping the bottom. |

Very nice close up of the bee and a great blurred background that really makes the bee stand out. There seems to be a light yellow halo around the antennae and I would like to see the bee darken down a bit. The distinct hairs on its back are great. |

The colors are wonderful, as is your blurred background. There is no doubt what the focal point is in this image. The bug is so sharp, even the antennae. My only suggestion is to crop off the bottom half of the leaf. I am not sure that so much leaf adds to the picture. |

Love the graceful lines of the flowers and the leaves. The darkened background really shows off the flowers. I even see a small bug on the flower. The only very small thing i would change is to clone out the lighter green dot to the right of the open flower. Otherwise, I love it the way it is. Nicely done. |

I love the softness of this image and you managed to maintain the details of the irises. For me, this is a very appealing image with a wonderful early, misty morning feel to it. I really love your post-processing. Hope you have this framed. |

Interesting, high key look. The petals have a painterly look, as well. Love the colors and the dark branch anchors the rest of the brightness in the frame. Nicely done. |

Nice reflection and the back-lighting on the leaves is wonderful and it shows off the little white hairs on the strawberry. I wish that the part of the strawberry closest to us (left of center) was in focus. |
